Need AT&T Phone Blackberry Preferred
 
My son went in the water with his Blackberry Curve. He bought a go-phone to use temporarily but would really like to have another Blackberry. I am not due for an upgrade til August and I have told him this upgrade was mine. I usually get him the new phone and I take his hand-me-down. I have his old razor now, but it has seen better days!

I can't see paying $400 for another Blackberry, but he really does use the internet on it and I would like him to have a better phone. If anyone has one in good condition, that they are willing to sell for a good price -- please let me know. He really loved his Curve! (That was the first time he ruined or lost a phone so I am not going to be too hard on him.)

my husband did it twice!...unloading his boat...messed up one i actually got it replaced for free messed up the second time i told him he was on his own...LOL

I don't have a Curve but I do have 2 Pearls (8100's), one is 2 weeks old and in excellent condition and the other has a cracked screen.

Take your battery out, and sim card....put phone and battery and sim into dry rice for about 3-4 days.....make sure to open phone backside under battery........so as for rice to touch the entire phone...this should dry the phone and it will work.....I have read it several places and it does work....in fact last week my son's friend was pushed into pool......and I told him what to do.....and he did it for a week.....and guess what, the phone works!!!

Try this first ......I think you may be surprised....

Wow, that's a great tip! The hubby has gotten a phone wet before and just drip dried it overnight and it worked the next day but he never swam with it, so it was a less severe case of soaking :p. Definitely a great tip to know! Thanks! :D

Buy him the iPhone! ;)

The internet is amazing on it if he uses that a lot. And the older version of the iPhone is only $99 now.

I think that is the 2 year contract price. I don't have an upgrade until August and I have been telling him the last several upgrades that the one in August is mine. Maybe I will have to reconsider. I can buy me a phone a lot cheaper than one that will give him what he wants. That is how he always gets the new phone and I wind up with his old ones. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. ;)

He is really sold on his Curve though. He loves that phone. He thinks he is back in the dark ages with his little $20 Go-Phone that is a temp replacement. Remember when it wasn't child abuse to go without a cell phone? LOL!

I have an AT&T Blackberry Curve used for a month and then put in the drawer. It is maroon.

Yeah, the $99 iphone is the upgrade price. If it's not time for an upgrade, they will nicely discount the iphone to I think it was $299 or $399 - and yes, that's the discount price and a 2 year contract extension :eek: No thanks.

This does work! My son-in-law had to do this...my only suggestion would be to put the rice in a nylon sock or else the rice sticks to the phone.

I bought Scrapindee's Blackberry Curve. But I am also testing the rice idea. I already put the rice and phone into a zip lock bag so it may stick to it. If it does work, I guess I will get a Blackberry too. I don't usually get the up-to-date equipment. LOL! I am not sure it will work though since we already tried it out after we thought it had dried out enough. Someone told me that if there was any moisture left and you turn it on, it can fry the electronics. But, it can't hurt to try -- rice is cheap. :)
