my doggy doesnt play My baby is like a cat, he doesn't play, I am constantly buying toys and it's almost as if he is looking at me laughing saying "come on you know I just want you to rub my belly and hold me" I swear, plus he's so tiny, its the funniest thing watching him carry around a bone... I wish he'd play more.. but I think I'm the one who turned him into a mush. |
He might change. Is her really young? Syd went through stages. She went from playing all the time (and not wanting to be petted), a chewing stage, a pet-me all the time stage, and now is a combo of all. |
Diesel Doesn't Play No, he's 4 lol. His idea of playing (I think) is me scratching the floor and him jumping on my hand for like 4 minutes until he gets tired and sleeps haha |
Yeah, I agree, my Benny doesn't play tooo much either, but I think it's because he is just getting used to me. He plays a little at a time, I'm hoping that will change. BUT he def loves company. Good luck and keep us posted |
That may simply be his disposition. My vet told me that yorkies are really very active and playful or just the oppositve. A friend of my wife has a yorkie that is like yours. He just sits there and you have to poke him to make sure he's alive. |
I'm sure they'll grow out of it over time, since most Yorkies are really playful and lively when they want to be :D But if not then i guess you'll just have to except them for what they are. |
Tucker is just the opposite! I'm always trying to get him to hold still so I can pet him. But, all of the world is his playground and he doesn't want to waste a single minute. Everything is a (chew) toy and he runs around like he's been shot out of a cannon! Enjoy the laid back, cuddly baby you have! |
Gucci is a combo also. SOmetimes she is in the playful mood and others she just wants to sleep. I love her in any stage. |
Mine are a combination also, but they do sleep a lot! |

Otis NEVER played when he was little. Then I noticed it was because I have hardwood floors! When we go over to my boyfriend's house or his parents' house, Otis has a blast and plays like a hyper little puppy because they have rugs. I think there's no traction on hardwood floors, and so he doesn't want to run or prance. But on rug, he can go really fast, plays fetch, gets his toys out, and is really playful. |
Muffin lived to be about 14 and she played all of her life. Of course, she didn't play like she did when she was a kid! :D But she always loved to play with her "doggie" and she loved to play ball. Actually, she played catch. I'd toss it up and she'd catch it in her mouth. Needless to say, her balls had to be those very soft vinyl one's. Kacee, though, plays almost all of the time. She runs so fast it scares us, because the first week we had her she ran into the bottom rail of benches in our yard and so we put pipe covers on them to protect her. It still scares us when she decides to start running! Oh! She decided to remove the pipe cover from one of the benches and spends her time outdoors dragging it around from one end of the yard to the other! I tossed down a 12-ounce coke bottle (empty) one evening and she plays with it non-stop out there. She attacks it and growls at it and runs with it and rolls over it. Who needs real toys. She ignores those and plays with "junk". |
my doggy doesn't play Yes that is definitely just his disposition. He just wants to lay with his mommy and snuggle, I have no problem with that! We babysit my friends teacup poodle who is NUTS lol and Diesel hates him and hides from him... I'm glad he's so calm. |
