sugestions My yorkie is 1.9 lbs and is 16 weeks old. I think she is going threw her teething stage, cuz she wants to chew on everything. I got her some toys when i got her some balls, and a squeeky bone toy, etc. Then I bought her some little bone things. But she doesnt seem to like the toys i got her. Instead she chews on paper, the computer desk, and shoes. Can anyone sugest a good chew toy for her to chew on? |
My maltese is a real chewer and she loves kong toys and nylabones and some other chew toys we got her. My yorkie also loves kong toys and nylabones. |

morgan loves flossies more then bully sticks. At four months she is beginning her teething. You should notice her incisors (front teeth) starting to fall out soon. |
I got mine these really really cool chew toys with a "treat" inside! They are a very hard plastic bone shape that are flat but with a cut-out in them with some hard treat stuff in it......I got them at wallmart.....Im going to go get some more...they LOVE them, and it takes a long time to eat all of the treat part. I threw the package away so I dont know the name of them but I am going to go get some more tomorow and will post to let you know exactly what they are..... |

I have heard people saying that their babies are choking on "bully sticks" and you have to be careful......is this true? |

bully sticks, flossies, and edible nylabones i think are safer because instead of breaking off pieces then dissolve as they chew i think. therefore they can only really choke on them when they get them down to the end and you don't notice it before it gets too small. Also, no chewy should be given when you can't monitor them IMO. |
I agree with Kellie. We always take Mia's flossies away when they get down to the last couple of inches. And she only gets it when we go to bed to watch tv at night... she chews on it until she falls asleep (so cute :) then we put it on the night stand. Mia didn't like the bullysticks and it took her a while before she could chew on the flossies so we bought her this "natural" thing that's thin and about 4-5 inches long. It was easier for her to chew on at first. Then the guy from that store told us when she starts chewing them faster - move up to the bullysticks or flossies (which we did). But there are other toys for the puppies to chew on. How about those fleese braids with knots at the ends? Mia's very first toy was s $1.00 orange plush squeaky bone from WalMart. She still has it and still loves it!!! But she's only a mild chewer. Oh and she has this little stuffed cat that has different colors and textures for it's arms, legs, body, and head. She's had that since she was a pup, too. Good Luck! |
When I went to Walmart yesterday I also bought them a couple of toys and so far their very favorite that they are fighting over even though there is two...is a stuffed "hot dog" type of dog that has a squeeker in it and at the other end when they bite it it barks hahahaa....they are going crazy over it even as I type this. LOL.....My son asked me what I was thinking to buy a toy that BARKS lol.....:p |

When my dog was going through that stage, I got him the Petstages toys at Petsmart.. They are great, and none have fallen apart:), and hes really rough!! I highly reccommend Petstages. |
I recently bought a Nylabone teething keyring. Not sure if that's the name, but it's a set of keys by Nylabone. Anyway, Prince used to chew the corners of the wall, but he LOVES those keys. he'll sit for hours chewing on it. I also gave him a baby toy, a plastic tigger toy. the plastic is hard enough that he can't bite through it, but not too hard. That's his second favorite toy. He's a hard chewer though. |
