Yorkie toys??? Hello, I'll being bringing my first Yorkie pup home in about a week or two. Can anyone give me suggestions on some first toys for her?:D |
simply fido - safe for dogs i give romeo simply fido dog toys. they are non-toxic and safe. they are made of organic material so if the chew on it they don't get sick. http://www.simplyfido.com/ |
both of mine would play with those small peanut flavored balls when I first got them better than some things. but I think it all just depends on the dog. |
You might want to ask the breeder what kind of toys he plays with now. I'm bringing mine home tomorrow, and I bought him some balls, some stuffed toys, and a puppy kong. The kongs are great and keep them occupied for awhile, which is good for when you are busy doing housework, etc. I think the best toys for puppies are chewing toys. I also bought some nylabones and flossies which most puppies seem to love. But, I would definitely recommend the kongs. I'm hoping my little guy will like his. I think it will be good for times when he's in his crate while I'm potty training him. It'll give him something to do.....well, that's if I ever stop cuddling him! lol Good luck! |
I suggest LOTS of chewies!! Puppies chew alot until they lose their puppy teeth. All my dogs LOVE pig ears and Walmart makes Piglets which are like strips of pig ear...9 week old Reece LOVES to chew on them for HOURS on end...and a big bonus is..it WEARS him out!! Stuffed animals are great and my lil ones enjoy Snugglepuppies which are stuffed dogs with a heartbeat and a heat pack so they can cuddle up to them if chilled or to feel secure!! I would suggest that toy to any new puppy owner..good luck with your new baby! Dawn |

I just thought of something else you might want to do when you bring your baby home. Take a blanket that you will be using for him to the breeder's with you and let the mom play with it for a few minutes to get her scent on it. I got Jake one of those baby's security blankets...the small one with the stuffed toy in the center, and I'm going to take it with me when I pick him up. My breeder is sending him home with his favorite blankie from her house and his favorite toys too. I think it helps with the transition. |
I bought Lady the puppy kong, a small nylabone and lots of plush toys, also a few of the bones made out of rope.....How exciting bringing a new puppy home...congratulations on your new little one |
My babies have always been partial to the Dr. Noys Material Dog Tiny plush toys with the replaceable squeeker. I particularly like the tiny froggie. |
I might add.... CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BABY! |
