Are yorkie is a destructive lil thing. Toys only last a couple of hours of play time. If they are stuffed she will rip the stuffing out in an hour. The ropes with 3 knots will be a thing of string in 4 hours. We do have one of those toys that have no stuffing it lasts longer but she will rip it up. So anyone have some WELL WELL built toys. I understand they are items that want last but come on..... :confused:

hi, i hear ya. i have a little destroyer as well. he must kill all toys to get the squeaker so i have stopped buying stuffed toys.. i buy hard rubber toys like little balls with bells inside, also little kong toys are good.... he also loves to chew so i keep plenty of nylabones on hand

Morgan likes to kill his toys so he has squeaker toys and nylabones. I just inspect his toys and when they get damaged we get rid of them

Our two yorkies favorite toys are fleece strips tied woven knotted or sewn. I use scrap pieces and do all kinds of things with the strips. They are lightweight, washable and clean the pups teeth while they are playing tug games. I also buy infant toys at yardsales that are quite sturdy and washable- I do keep a good eye on these for chewed off pieces.

Mikki can kill a toy in no time flat. The Ty Bow Wow toys were recommended to us. And they really have lasted longer. They are not expensive at all. I ordered from the website.

Tank is a toy killer too! A Wubbie, sort of looks like a kong with straps hanging from it. the kong like portion is has a squeaker incased in it. it has been through a bout of absolute attempted destruction with tank and is still standing strong.

Tank has a thing for eyeballs on any toy, within seconds they are a goner. :)

i found his elmo doll in the kids section at target and he has not been able to tear it open yet and rip the stuffing out. He nurses the eyeballs and they are sucked flat but stuffing is intact.

GoDog makes super cute and tough toys ... TopPaw as well. May research some toy options! If you see her shaking it and throwing it, let her go ahead and have fun, but if you see her put it between her paws (that is the destroy stance) and get ready to pull and rip it, take it away from her. You just have to teach her not to destroy her toys. :-P If she cannot be supervised with a toy in her learning process, don't leave her with one. If she is teething, make sure to have some yummy chews around to focus on instead of her play things -- Nilla loves gullet and bully strips. Just say no to rawhide!

Unless they loosed their teeth more than once teething is not this issue. But I will look at some of these toys. The whole fleece strips would be a waste of fabric!

Baby toys are pretty durable. I would also stick with kong toys and other rubber like toys.

we rescued a 2-3 yr Yorkie and he has shown NO interest in any toys...any ideas?
