Anybody else have a Yorkie that tosses things?
 

Polo (lil Freak), will get a treat ,,, and proceed to whip it in the air 5-10ft... run and chase it... whip it again... It is hilarious. I need to video tape it... He loves doing it with ice cubes. Yes I know how dangerous Ice is... I make sure its a small piece first and am close by in case of choking, but it really doesn't matter, cause he plays ice hockey with it all over the kitchen floor!

Haha my Doodlebug does this too. He use to have a stuffed animal that had a hard ball inside that he tossed sideways, flew across the room and crashed into the wood blinds on our picture window! :eek:

Sammy does that too if we drop an ice cube on the floor. He also does that with his vitamin and treats too. He throw it then he pounces on it! It's so cute the way they amuse themselves.

Tibbe loves to throw his treats and his toys and then "get" them, too, growling and shaking them. He can play and play this way. I try not to say or engage too much during his playtime as I notice that with my dogs in the past, they can get habituated to my involvement in their playing and soon, unless I am involved, won't play much as adults.

Tibbe did not know how to play at all when I first got him but once I activated each of his toys or treats by baiting him with it, throwing it a couple of times and so on, he began learning to play and decided he loved playing alot.

Soon, all he did was play and throw his treats and toys and have a ball. I noticed after I'd had him about 3 mos., he'd started looking to me when he had toys, baiting me by throwing his toys at me or coming and pushing one in my hand, wanting me involved as when I first taught him to play or activated one of his toys. And I do play with him a lot but I don't engage in all his sessions as I want him to continue to play a lot on his own, using his own imagination and play skills. This is when he does the most treat/toy throwing as your little Polo does, playing all by himself. It is really cute to see a Yorkie playing all by himself and just having all the fun in the world!

Polo is just so cute! How old is he? Is he your very first Yorkie?

Rosie throw's her toys, and then goes after them too. It's fun to watch her do it. :thumbup:

I think it started by accident while she was shaking one and it went flying, she got such a good reaction from us laughing she does it when no one will play with her!

Princess is the same way, she will do it as a last straw to get someone to play with her. Of course it gets my attention and has me cracking up!

Yup! That's what Rosie does. It is so funny to watch them. We all laugh at her too.

Kaji tries to bounce his ball like I do. When he can't, he just tosses it and chases it down. Sometimes he just can't wait for me to drop everything and toss the ball for him. :p

Ha ha funny thread, Joey tosses his bully stick at me, until I soak the tip to make it softer for him. I can't believe how fast he trained me.

Well i have to be honest, He looks just like me :eek: Polo is my 1st... he is 18 mos old yesterday... and was very proudly wearing his Polo hoodie on the boardwalk yesterday... chasing seagulls and begging for caramel corn... Thanks Jill He is a lion in a 6 lb shell...

Just as I am sitting here.. I hear this... tap tap tap... Thunk clack... PLOP... Polo just tossed a carrot into the toilet... I am dying here!! I wish I had seen it!!!

Yep, Peanut does. He doesn't get in too close then the girls are playing anymore so he will toss his Eore in the air and play by himself. He will also stand Eore on all 4 feet in the hallway and wait for me to come out of the bedroom and kick it to him. He's a silly boy!

My Moochie does and I love it. lol. Usually, with a special treat AND when she loves paper towel or tissue so if she does get a piece of that - she will roll it around in her mouth, fling it and then go after it. When she plays - she will shake her head, growl and bark. Soooo funny! :yelrotflm

My Trinity does it. She will toss a toy up in the air and then pounce on it. In a way she plays fetch with herself, she throws and then fetches it, lol. It is so funny to watch.

My Shesha likes to toss her treats in the air. Then she rubs herself all over it and then tosses it again. It is funny to watch.

Rhia does that with some of her treats...and things she isn't supposed to have. LOL. She used to pick the plastic eyes off her toys and would fling them about until I came and picked them up.

Would love to see a video. Sometimes little Lollipop will toss a kibble, but unfortunately either Boo the elderly Boxer or Tealie will nab it.

My Barkley does this all the time, with treats, kibble, toys, you name it! LOL It's so funny when he starts getting the growls in. :rolleyes:

Yep, Nemo does it too....particularly with his Binky (you guys remember the Petsmart commercial with the dachsund and his toy? yea, thats the one). How he gets it to sommersault over his head with as long as it is (we had to get the large one like Draco has, he just turned his nose up at the one that is his size).

Although for the past couple of days EVERYTHING has been neglected in favor of the stupid cat laser light that hubby dear bought when we were at the store. He thinks it's the greatest thing in the world...

My Bella loves to toss her toys, chase them, then bring them back to me. It is hilarious. She brings me so much joy!

Got a tosser here too. Kayla loves to throw things in the air and run and get them and toss them again. Really cute to watch them.

My Tatyana does that, she also does this with balls? treats, her squeaky bunny, she'll fling it, and then run after it. And if she wants you to throw it, she'll run up to you an place the toy against your leg and then drop it. I always say I'm going to film this, but I never end up doing it. Or if I do she'll stop before I pick up my camera.

Yes, Sophie can toss and play fetch all by herself. She also will come to me and put her kong directly in my hand then politely sit and wait for me to fill it. Sometimes if I'm working on the computer I'll look down and there will be four or five toys she's brought to me to throw for her so I stop and we play for awhile with each toy.. So cute :p

Levi tosses his toys when he is really, really having a good time. One of his favorite things to "toss" is a bully stick, followed by nylabones, but he will toss just about any toy around for himself if he is in an especially playful mood. One of the cutest things ever!

Henry will toss his toys in the air and then "attack" them. He also tosses his Kong around, but that is mainly cause he's trying to knock the kibble loose. He will toss the kong and then search the area for kibble and then toss the kong again.

Yes, Tink loves to throw her toy or treat or kibble around and pounce on it and chase it. She doesn't growl at it but every once in a while, she yips at the treat when she's tossing and catching it. Aren't our babies just so much fun?!:D
