Ok thank you. Do you know any sites or stores that have a harness/ leash combination for boys that are cheap. I am still a highschool student without a job but I do get about maybe $40 a month total to spend on everything that I want. My mom and dad help me with the dog unless its something he doesnt need at the moment. And does anyone know any where I can get cute cheap boy dog clothes? Everywhere is either expensive or they arent cute? Thanks(: |

Talk to your parents about getting a harness for your new pup. A simple nylon step in harness (or a nicer one) is a real investment. Collapsed trachea requires a surgery that can costs thousands to correct. It's really the smart way to go to spend $12-$20 on a harness (or two) and avoid a big problem later. |
I have a 8 month old that came f/ a breeder, then to a friend for a week, then on to me. The first couple of weeks he didn't play at all, just slept alot. I have now had him a little over a month, and he has finally gotten comfortable w/ us, and plays with his rope, and a ball that has a string on it, and my old footie. He likes to bite on my hand (doesn't hurt). I have a daycare, and he sometimes plays with the kids, and sometimes he runs to me or his cage to get away when they are a bit overwhelming to him. He is adjusting very well though, and he doesn't like the snow. When it is really cold, he will do what he has to do, and come right in. But if it's nice he likes to take a walk. Good luck, hope it all works out. And with your nephew, just keep an eye on him and make sure he is being nice. I have had to keep an close eye on the kids at my house, just in case. I love my Bentley! :) |

Awww. Some dogs that did not learn to play as a puppy - never really learn to play with toys. They can still play chase and enjoy life - but he may not be interested in toys - ever. That said, you can try the little squeaky toys as someone said and my Lucy loves cat toys - the small balls, etc. My friend adopted a yorkie that was about 2 - no one had ever played with him and he simply did not know how to play. He loved to walk and was so cute and loving - but he never did learn (or was never interested) to play with dog toys. He liked to play hands and chase - but that's about it. Still, he was so adorable I would have snatched up him in a heartbeat! |
