Bored Inside Hello! I need some winter time advice! My poor litle baby is SOOOOO bored being stuck inside, but it's just too cold for her little 4 pounds outside! Anyone know of any indoor tiny dog playgroups in the westside Cleveland area? |
Bump! Have you tried puzzle games indoor? |
Contact your Chamber of Commerce and ask them. They are a world of information on their towns! You could also ask at the Vets. offices and any boarding facility. |
I found this group: Yorkie Power Playgroup (Akron, OH) - Meetup You can check meetup.com to see if you can find anything else... As for occupying them in the house during the winter (I know - this sucks! LOL)... I do a lot of training with Jackson which tires him out mentally. We use clicker training. We also do a lot of indoor fetching... He loves those Kong squeaky tennis balls (they come in 4 different sizes) and I throw them down the long hallway. He also likes the Cuz ball and anything that squeaks and is rubber basically, LOL!! To tire him out more, sometimes I sit at the top of the stairs and throw it down the stairs, so he's running up/down the stairs to drain his energy. They have puzzle games for Dogs, things like Hide-a-Squirrel and Nina Ottosman dog puzzles. Also Kong is great. You can stuff food into them and keep them busy for a while. Of course bully sticks and Himalayan chews are a hit in this house too! |
Thank you guys so much for all the tips/info!:):) |
I see you guys are still getting the awful winter weather and not much outside play time :(, so sad and hard to deal with!!! One of the things we use when Sprocket won't go outside, he hates the wind and we've had alot, is one of those lazor (sp) light toys, the kind you have for cats to chase. You buy them at the pet store, they are less than $5, they make no noise and they come w/extra batteries. Sprocket will run after "the light" until he just collapses he is so tired and will play every time you get out the light. I swear if dogs could laugh he would be , it's not quiet, Sprocket gets real loud, barking, running (read thundering), screaming he's having so much fun. DH and Sprocket do this together, it's "their" special thing they do, then they snuggle up together. Puppy love, so cute. So much love, my guys  |
