Swimming... 4 Attachment(s) in the Colorado River! Oh my goodness; we drove through Colorado the other day along I80. There's a place called Glenwood Springs & the interstate is built through a gorge. There's so much to love there but we discovered Tuffy likes to swim there :D He'd waded a bit in a very shallow area & we found another so he went wading a bit more but got brave & stepped onto several rocks. WHAMMO! He jumped right in & started swimming around! He's always on a harness/leash outdoors so he was safe but it sure startled us. My DH has been calling him a little river otter for the last 2 days  |
hahaha that's so cute! beautiful pictures of the river |
4 Attachment(s) a few more. I was so stunned that he jumped in that I totally forgot I had the camera in my hands, so no actual swimming pics but he had a blast "swimming" in the bathtub tonight. Water everywhere! |
Aww that looks so fun! There's a few parks we take Uni to and she loves to jump into the creek! Great pics! |
This is a "Rest area"! It's really awesome though; there's a concrete pathway along the river edge that goes on for miles. People walk, skate, jog & ride bikes there. I'll look to see if I can find some info on it for those that may read this & also travel. ;) & ooops, it's I 70 not I 80...I'm horrible at geography; it's a wonder we ever make our deliveries! |
I'm really suprised there's not more info on these rest areas. Here's 1 of the articles I found HangingLakeRestAreainGlenwoodSpringsCO.cfm There are 4 rest areas in the Glenwood area. Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed up into the trail area but we enjoyed ourselves so much just in the rest area we weren't too concerned about the trail. |
Love the fourth picture in your first post! Looks like you and your little one had so much fun. |

Great pics thanks for sharing :) |
Awww they are so cute... I ahve a Q.....Robbo loves the water so much and is off his leash when we go out on walks in the country....I live in Scotland.... but he has never swam and I do not know if he can....I sometimes go in the water with my wellies with him but I avoid the deep parts....how do I make sure he can swim or does it come as second nature? First, I'd suggest trying the bathtub to see if Robbo likes water all around him (some don't) & try filling it gradually to a point that he'll be able to kick about. Then I'd suggest looking for dog swimwear/flotation gear. I'd worry about anyone's dog that lived near water getting loose to go for a swim on their own; they tire easily & unfortunately sometimes the outcome is not good :( If you do a search here at YT be sure to use the Advanced Search as it allows you to be more selective. Glad you liked the pictures! |
