Would Like To Take My Yorkie Biking Hi! Do any of you bike with your dog? I have seen so many different packs, but would like to get one my dog would be most happy in. Thanks |
That's a great question! I'm also tempted to put Otis on my back or in a basket on a bike, but I'm kinda scared I'm going to crash and he'll get hurt. |
i have one of these and love it. http://www.stubbytails.com/index.htm |
I have a "Pet-A-Roo" front carrier that can be used either on the front or back of you. Unfortunately i paid almost $50.00 for mine, but just recently saw the same exact one in a magazie I received called, Care-A-Lot Pet Supply ... www.carealotpets.com for only $ 24.95 The item # is 1302 (Boye! did i get ripped off  ) Anyway, I like mine alot and it holds Schatzie very securley and I don't have to worry. We use ours with our 4-wheeler and motorcycle. |
Thank you all! I will check out the two sites. |
O.K., I've checked out both sites and I see they are two different styles, so I guess either one will work just fine. I have seen both on other sites also, was thinking that the Kari-Pet looked like it would keep your dog comfortable and cool, since their legs stick out, but was a little concerned if it kept your dog secure enough. Thanks again! |
the karipet keeps them very secure. Buckeye just loves to be in his. we took him on vacation with us (this was pre Ahia), and all the sight seeing we did was with him in his karipet. He got so darn much attention we could hardly get any site seeing done. I used it for him when Ahia had an appointment with the vet and it allowed me to be handsfree to attend to her also. The vet thought it was amazing and approved it all the way. It has a hole for their tail so it is not scrunched up in any way. you need to get the right size so their front legs are free. we love ours. i have never used ours as a car seat like they say you can. wouldn't want their legs dangling on a long trip. but for walks through the store or ride on the bike it is great. i have a picture of buckeye in his i will post it if i can find it. |
Thanks, ldenise! I'd love to see your pic if your able to find it! |
i have seen a nice little back pack online in the petsmart website. It looks very comfy and secure and it also turns into a car seat for your puppy. It was a very reasonable price too . Maybe you should check it out. If i remember correctly in the picture of the back pack the lady was riding a bike and her dog was in it. :) |
Thanks, coopersunshine I did look at the Petsmart site. Quite a huge selection. I don't know which type of bag I'll go with yet. I was thinking it would be nice to have one that can also be used as a car seat. |
Pet-a-Roo for a great price I just purchased a Pet-A-Roo online at Activek9.com It was only 14.90 (on sale) but is still regularly under 20 bucks. This is the best price I've found on the internet. Their other products are very competitively priced as well. |
I placed my order with PawsAroundTown! :aimeeyork It was a lot more, but I ended up going for color, not price. If I was any good at posting pics, I would show you, but I have no clue about those things, but it's real cute, just got it yesterday! It's pink!!! Check the site out, if you'd like to see it: www.pawsaroundtown.com |
[COLOR=Blue]I just ordered one of these for my bike. I hope that we like it. Check it out at www.hunterk9.com. ;) http://www.hunterk9.com/site/870877/page/397457 |
My step mom takes her poodle for rides. He sits in the front basket and she bought a pair of goggles for him so that nothing flies into his eyes. |
Yes, I took Gracie in a basket on the front of the bike. Had to train her to stay in it and she did great! Then when we got Sampson, I bought a little "trailer" that goes behind the bike. It is really for children and it has a cover and they both stay in it and LOVE IT! Imagine the surprised looks from people who expect to see children and they see a Yorkie and a Maltese. hee hee |
