But thanks for letting your cutie be a lab "rat" for us *snicker* - I don't want to risk my dogs getting more vicious than they already are. So no rat for us.

Uh, yeah...Here's some of the scary faces I have been getting from Chewy. We are now calling this thing "Puppy Crack".

I just love all the descriptions of the rat. Wow, great reviews for this toy. I think Im going to add it to Gucci's wish list, ;) . I love the pics of the pups playing with the rat and/ or marmot. :rolleyes:

Those are great. That's soooo Eddie. We had to take the rat away because he was pulling out all the stuffing. We'll sew it up. And I've always got two more for special occasions. Chewy is adorable, by the way. Gorgeous face and hair.

Aww thanks! He's not so well groomed and teddy-bear adorable as Eddy though! And what a photogenic lil' fellow!

As for the stitching, Notice the lack of ears on my rat, ;)

Eddie hadn't had the rat for 4 days because we haven't sewn it yet, but he was particularly restless tonight and we broke out the second of our three rats. What we we thinking? He attacked it with even greater zeal than the last time. I'm still not sure if it was his grunting sounds or the rat's. Maybe both. He mauled it for an hour, and we finally took it away. My wife dropped Eddie on my lap to hold while she hid it, but he bounced off me like a trampoline and caught up to her before she got down the hall. Now it's an hour later, and he's still yipping. Here's a picture demonstrating Hamoth's technique of squeaking the tail in order to get him to drop the head.

I laughed so hard when you called Eddie Edward - it reminded me that my friend Laurence in the states is called Larry by anyone but me. He told me when someone in the states calls him Laurence it means they are upset with him. So I told him, I would always use his name because a name shouldn't be connected to scolding. We laughed so much every time his friends heard me call him Laurence and thought I was upset with him :D

So Eddies name is Edward - well, that is very suitable because he sure is a little prince! :D

Thanks for doing the videos, it was a blast to watch. Promise to make more when the snow comes :)

Mette, we have no kids, so Edward, uh Eddie, is having to play that role in our lives. He doesn't seem to mind. :)

Well, we have kids like that too - Kali and Mare. And they are mommys little peaches, munchkins, trolls and the likes. If you look close enough you can even see some resemblence between me and my girls! :)

The GRUNTING RAT just arrived today and its the same size as my two 5 lb yorkie girls. They're not interested in it as yet, maybe they're not in a playful mood ? :confused: Just have to give it a try again, maybe I'll just have to ship it back.

They are fussy about their toys. They seem to love the NEOPETS that came from the MacDonalds Happy Meals tho, they are tiny and don't rip them apart at all and easier to carry around. To each his own choice here I guess.

Darn, I thought we'd discovered the universal Yorkie toy. I guess they really do have unique personalities. Hopefully, your girls will come around.

Hey, Mike, Just had this idea...if you haven't stiched up your rat yet, see what a little un-salted / un-bettered popcorn does as stuffing. I was thinking that then it's like a pinata with squeakers!

Oh, man, that could be fun. It might turn him ravanous, but it's hard to think he could get moreso than he is now.

Of course, my wife will probably veto the idea. She doesn't feed him anything but dog food and one type of treats. She's no fun.

Another example of the rat's appeal: Eddie has been moping all day. He's only done this one other time, where he just seems moody. Not sure if it's because his girlfriend didn't visit today or because the mother-in-law who watches him during the day went out of town. But after moping all day, I gave him the rat tonight. He's instantly back to his old self. Amazing.

And medusa512, I've heard good things about that toy. Thanks for the link. I'm gonna check it out.

Our Corgi discovered the Marmot today. He was chewing it and making it "grunt". Fagan was so jealous. He was in her face barking and barking...you could almost here " my Marmot..Go Get Your OWn!!!" He finally captured it back and ran off into the kitchen with it...dragging it by it's tail. Too funny. :aimeeyork We might need a second one........

That's hilarious. Eddie cannot have the rat without being monitored. I put it away when I leave the house because he shreads it and tears out the stuffing looking for the squeakies. He demolished his first rat and is now on his second one, but even that has NO stuffing left inside and no grunting squeaky. I was marveling just this morning that he actually left it alone for a minute, but now he's yapping at me to try to take it from him. I might have to get the marmot.

That's what will happen if the corgi gets the marmot for too long. She will rip it to shreds to get the squeekers and grunters out I may have to get her one and just hide my eyes during the carnage!!! Hahahaha....

I am going to have to get 2 of these toys. My pups love sqeaky toys (fabric only) and my daughter's stuffed animals. My male, Bubba is actually a Yorkshire retreiver. We throw the sqeaking toy and he runs and gets it sqeaking it the whole way back. He puts it on our lap, just like a lab, and wags his tail 100 mph. We throw it what seems like a thousand times until he brings it back and falls asleep.

Anyone else have a Yorkshire retreiver? :)

My girl, Cricket, does the same thing. Then Bubba chases her and they do the tug of war for a long time. If, and I mean if Bubba wins (Bubba 9lbs-Cricket barely 5lbs.) he brings it to me and wants me to throw it. If Cricket wins, she runs and hides and growls like she will attack if someone comes near HER toy. It's quite comical.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!! This just made me laugh and laugh and laugh... And I am at work too...

Gosh when we get our babies, trust me this is at the top of the list of must have toys!!! :) Maybe I will do a puppy registry??? :rolleyes: LOL!!!
