Bailey Crockett?
 
So, my boyfriend and I are thinking of going camping in October or November in the mountains of SW Virginia, and we want to bring Bailey along. We're not planning on hiking (Mommy can't hike, let alone Bailey), so I was wondering if he would be ok to bring along instead of leaving him with sitters for the weekend. He'll be 5 or 6 months by then, and (we're thinking) 5-7 lbs (he's 4 months and 4 lbs now). What do you guys think?

Schatzie camps with us all the time. I think Bailey would have a blast in the great outdoors! Don't forget the camera! :p

Oh Daddy wouldn't dare let me forget that...he's the resident photographer. Anything special you think we would need? You see all these crazy pet accessories for outdoors stuff, but I can never tell what's important and what's just a money ploy.

We take our dogs camping too. Tinkerbell had a blast at the lake last month. I wish I had remembered some jammies for her as we were in the mountains and it got cold at night and I also wished I had little boots. The sap and pine needles got all in her paw pads. Also the chipmunks or squirrels found her bag of food and ate it all in plain daylight, so bring extra food just in case. I brought a very long thin rope with a leash hook, so she could have some freedom to explore without being unleashed. Have fun!

We have never cammped over night with Gidget yet but we visit my parents for the day all the time when they go camping. Gidget loves it.......we have a rope on one of the cork screw things and she thinks she is top dog......the ants always seem to get in her foood though :( so now we bring it but just let her eat people food like a treat :P Lots of people actually have small dogs that they camp with so she always finds new frinds on walks and that too :) They love being outdooors....atleast Gidget does..... The PJ's are a goood idea I wouldnt have thought of that......I will ut that on the list for when we go overnight :)

We take our dogs overnight to our sailboat. Its like camping only on the water. They have a good time. The sailboat gets a little crowded though with all of us in it.
