Best Toy Ever!! My bf and I were at the grocery store the other day and in the little vending machines at the front of the store, my bf put in 50 cents, and got a little tiny rubber ducky. He gave it to Lola, and IT IS HER FAVORITE TOY EVER!! It's great! Super small, but big enough where they won't choke. It's also extremely durable so she can't bite through it. It must feel good on her teeth too. She LOVES her ducky, and acts like it is a treat. She's protective over it and always rolls around on it. She throws it to herself, and we throw it to her. If anyone is looking for a VERY CHEAP great toy, I recommend this!! Just wanted to let you all know!! Thanks :) |
What a cute idea! My Gr.son has alot of Rubber Ducks and Fish in the tub for when he takes a bath!! He's always stealing Baron's balls and loses them!! I think I'll put a bug in Baron''s ear as to where to find some really fun and chewy toys...LOL Thanks for the idea!! :D |
a friend of mine raises Maltese and one of her girls has an "aflac " duck .. when she bites it it screams "aflac" ?? LOL! She takes that thing everywhere with her. Its cute! Maybe they luck duckies |
Good idea..cheap too. I got the boys a duck at Petsmart that quacks and I know they all love it. ;) |
I got a new one! I decided to get another one while I was at the grocery store today, and the one that came to me from the machine was a purple duck with a black anarchy symbol on it and then a black mohawk on the top!! Hahaha....hilarious! Her other one (that daddy gave her) is yellow with a little red heart on the chest. She is OBSESSED with them...haha... hope you guys can find one!! They love it!! |

Rory also loves rubber ducks, but she has been able to bite through all the ones we have found. I got her a cute little Juicy Couture robe and rubber duckie set, and she chewed off his beak. Then we just bought one at Walmart for babies and she did the same thing. Drats! |
Ok, Ok I'll go to the gumball machine area in Walmart, and look for little ducks. |
I was either browsing through Oriental Trading's print catalog or their online site and say so many rubber duckies. I don't always stay up on the current fads now that I've retired from teaching but these rubber duckies must be popular. They have more styles than one would ever expect! I've never ordered rubber duckies from them but I have used them for classroom incentives for the past 30+ years and their service and quality is good. The only thing I've ever disliked was the eraser on wooden pencils but that was years ago and may be improved by now. Just one word of caution...be sure to notice the quantity in the unit sold and size measurements of the item. Rubber Duckys |

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE LINK!! I'M SO EXCITED!! |
You are going to love Oriental if you ever use classroom incentives! They have all types and shapes of erasers and other things kids like. (As I said before, the only thing I would not order from them were their wooden pencils. The erasers on the pencils seemed like they'd been varnished! They may have improved over the years but I always went through the school bookstore to get pencil rewards. I could get a gross of decorated ones for a reasonable price. Of course, wrapped candy will probably always be the cheapest incentive in the classroom but with childhood obesity problems, some schools in our area have banned candy treats unless they are sugar free. Sugar free candy is not cheap...plus, it can upset stomachs. I think (if I'm not mistaken) that in recent years Oriental has even begun taking purchase orders. I know we used purchase orders for the incentive prizes on a funded grant called "Catch Them Being Good" but that covered 6 elementary schools. I can't recall whether I had to make special arrangements with the company or not so that I could have proper documentation for the funded grant. I just generally paid myself for my classroom. (All you had to do was mention Oriental in the lounge and other teachers would want to order, too, which made shipping more reasonable.) Good luck on your degree, TOY |
OCD over THE BALL My Angel has OCD when it comes to the B-word. She loses her flippin mind. LOL (yes..she may look sweet in those pictures I have but she's a crazy girl about the BALL) Well we tried tennis balls and she would tear all the felt off it. make a mess and probably even swallowed some. So no more tennis balls. Then we discovered, like you, the wonderful hard little superballs in the vending machine at the grocery store. What a wonderful toy. We could bounce it around. Play fetch to her hearts content....UNTIL.......she found out how to start picking at it and tearing little pieces off of it. NOW when she has one (well, not anymore) she will destroy it within a couple hours. The only one we've found so far thats durable enough to withstand those yorkie teeth is the pimple ball. Now before you all gasp....I know what has happened to some dogs who got them stuck on their tongues. Soooooo what I do is make sure there is a hole at each end so a vacuum doesn't occur. Therefore no ball stuck on the tongue. These ball last her for months. They cost around $4 but when I was going through 50 cents every few days at the vending machine....well you do the math. Happy tails everyone!! Just had to share. |
That sound so cute! I would love to see a pic of your dog playing with the duck!! |

Penny loves those rubber ducks. My little niece and nephews were taking a bath together and playing with a lot of the ducks. Penny tried to get in to get one. She is obsessed with them too. They don't squeak, she just loves to chew them and she looks pretty cute walking around with a duck in her mouth. |
ohhh i cant wait to get one!!!! :) |
