Need toy for playing fetch! I'm in need of a new fetch toy. My Bentley LOVES to play fetch. For Christmas I want to get him a new toy. I am thinking of a tug rope that is mini, but can't find one. I'm not really interested in the fleece ones. I am looking for places where I can get any sort of fetch toy though so suggestions and websites would be greatly appreciated. Thank you much!:D |
Does he like balls? My Mitzy will play fetch nonstop. She LOVES the little goodcuz badcuz balls. They fit in her mouth and they squeek. I think their made of rubber or something simalar. Their so cute. They have little feet and the badcuzs have devil horns. She cant have rope toys cause she eats the string after chewing them up so those are banned in our house now. But you can pick up the cuz toys at Petsmart or order them at Petedge.com. |
I know you said something about not fleece, but we play fetch with the bouncing buddy made by Amber_lv. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-toy-sale.html We used to use the ropes but if Tbone chews on them the strings break and he will swallow them, which is really bad for his digestive track. We love our bouncing buddy! |
I use the small balls outside that are made for smaller breeds and I use the ropes inside. You can find both at Petsmart!:D |
Seriously, the best present you can get him is a dirty sock. First, it smells like you. Second, you can roll it up and use it to play fetch; your dog will be able to really sink his teeth into it. Third, you can unroll it and play tug-of-war. Fourth, you can put your hand in it and boom, you have an interactive chew toy. |
I was looking for a tug-of-war toy as well, and couldn't find any small enough at our local pet stores. What I ended up doing was cutting a 1 to 1 and 1/2 inch inch strip off of an old washcloth, and tying a knot on each end of the strip. It's not the prettiest toy he has, but it is his current favorite for fetch and tug-of-war. He really loves it when I wet it with cold water and leave it in the freezer for about 10 minutes so the water gets slushy and makes the toy a little stiff. I'm going to cut the rest of the washcloth into strips so that I can have several more and rotate them as they need to be washed, and always have one ready for fun in the freezer (a quick rinse in cold water turns a completely frozen one into the "slushy" consistency he likes). I also have plans to wet one in chicken broth maybe, and freeze that... I bet he'd love that. Anyways, not the fanciest toy, but it sure is fun. And cheap too, lol. Lauren & Nikko |
I have one of those mini rope toys you're thinking of. I got it four years ago when I fostered a Pit Bull. The rescuer gave me a stocking full of toys (the plastic ones in a set) with toys for him. They were mostly too small though. I ended up keeping it for a long time lol. You might try those plastic stockings they sell at Petco or Petsmart or Target. Vanessa |

That's a great idea! |
Obi loves to play fetch, and now that it's so cold outside we do it mainly inside. His favorite toys to play fetch with are a couple of soft items from Petstages, the Soft Toss Ring and the Mini Loop Ball. I think you can find both of these at PetSmart, but am not sure as I got them as a gift from a friend who works for the company. Below are links to the 2 products. Toys to play fetch My dog used to love playing fetch with the small frisbee's. I had a plush one and a lime green and pink one. That was his absolute favorite thing in the world to do, he would go nuts. Periwinkle |
