Puppy Christmas Stockings Christmas is not far away. I'm already thinking about stocking stuffers for our new lil fella. I have one toy that I bought and decided to put up for Christmas since he already had a couple. Since I'm a first time new Yorkie momma, I was wondering if ya'll could share your ideas. Dog treats? Clothes? Grooming stuff (is that considered a Christmas stocking stuffer?) I would prefer some inexpensive ideas since I have three human babies to buy for too. :) Thanks! |

We stuffed a special stocking for our GE SB,and I went to Target and Petsmart. They all had great deals. Go online and request some Shampoo and treat samples. They're cheap, and it'll help you find the right one for him. Happy hunting, and enjoy your holidays. |
I have always put treats into a little stocking and watched them try to get them out. I never could hold onto the toys very long either....they always wanted them. |
This will be Darcy's first Christmas with us, but Baxter and Cooper get a stocking every year. I stuff it with treats and small toys. It is fun to watch them sniff and try to pull things out. They also get one larger gift, last year they got the "big game" moose and bear--I'm not sure if that is what they are called, but only the head and paws are stuffed, and the body is flat, like a rug, theY LOVE them. I plan on getting Darcy one this year! |
Thanks for the responses. I'm so excited for Maximus' first Christmas. I am planning on getting some Yorkie Yummies for him too. I am also looking for a tube type toy, similar, but safer to a empty toilet paper roll. He loves to play with them, and I'm just not sure how safe it is for him. I know this a.m. he got some of the toilet paper off it (the last little pieces that are stuck to them, we got the biggest part off before letting him play with it) and he started "coughing a furball". I gave him some water to get it down and so far he seems ok. So, I decided he needed something like that. I have a Jeffers Pet Catalog and I saw an orka stick that I thought was pretty cool. Darlin Beauxs - I think Jeffers also has what you are talking about, "super-sized animal trophies from Coleman? They have a Buffalo, Bear, and Moose. The Buffallo actually looks like a warthog to me. lol They are $16.97 each. I can really spoil this little fella. I got him a Christmas sweater last night at Walmart, along with leg warmers and a scarf. I will have to get dh's help dressing him, but right now, he is kind of too little for the outfit (XXS), as he keeps pulling his front legs out of it. I tried the leg warmers, and he keeps pulling them off with his teeth. lol |
I usually go with treats. I like the idea of them having fun with it when they open it. They really enjoy scratching, sniffing and digging out the treats. I sometimes put a small toy in but I find as soon as I buy, I give  I think this year I just might throw in a couple we already have--;) |
Get some bows? I'm getting some from Marj and I'll let you know what I think. I've heard that hers are fantastic and Izze and I are excited. What else? Target and Petedge have really nice toys. You could get some doggie chew treats, like booda bones or greenies. Cookies. hmmm I don't know what else. I'm just giving Izze things---I'm not bothering to put them in stockings lol I don't do that for humans either... so. |
I was just at PetSmart the other day and they have a promotion going on with 100 toys under $5! A lot of them are small so they are especially good for yorkies. They also have a lot of cute tee shirts that are Christmas themed. One things I do with my furbabies toys is to rotate which toys they have out to play with so that when I change them it's like they get new toys. |
Sizes Hello everyone! I am new to this site and I am getting my baby yorkie on Saturday! I am so excited...I am also thinking about putting a xmas stocking together for Tobi. I have took notes on what everyone has said and want to thank everyone for the helpful advice. But what size clothes should i buy for my 9-10 week old yorkie? :) |

Yes, those are the toys I am talking about, and it sounds like they are a much better deal than what I got! Also, target has some for sale, they are NOT the Coleman brand, but look to be sturdy. I got Darcy the pink pig, it is made out of lambs-wool like material, and is just precious! |

if he is that small you can actually take girls knee hi socks and make cute sweaters for him |
I actually started a thread like this in another board...I was thinking about giving my dog some Bright Bites since it cleans his teeth and he likes them. It makes us both happy :) |
