Running out of toys!! Ok, I need your help on this one. My Chicle has destroyed all his plush toys and all his nylabones. He's a terrific chewer.. he will spend hours just knawing at anything till he has managed to cut a piece. (this is why he gets sick alot i figure  ) This morn I went to wake him up and I see his yellow booda stuffed bone toy broken with a gaping whole where its eye was and the stuffing of the plush toy all over his crate. This is the 4th toy hes done this too... he starts off by pulling the threads until he makes a whole then pulls out the stuffing ... God knows for who long during the night he was hacking at this poor toy... :( I just dont know what other toys to get him.... ANY IDEAS GUYS .. I REALLY dont know what else too give him... :eyebrow2: |
Gus is the same way. You can buy nearly indestructable toys for aggressive chewers but since he can't tear it apart he may not like it. I bought a few at Petsmart. Gus has a few he likes and a few he never touches. |
get a kong (petsmart) you cant chew through that for nothing! |
Itspuppyluv : wont it affect his teeth? he still has his puppy teeth i would think those aggressive or indistructable toys will be too hard for him :-\ .. what do u think? feminvstr: is a kong those toys were u can insert a treat? |
yep it is I buy 3, they love to chase and play with them as well, they lose them all the time. Its a sturdy little thing! I dont use the treats in them. |

I just bought a varity of toys from petsedge. They are so cheap compaired to the pet stores, I could't pass them up. I don't get my puppy until Friday, so I can't tell you what she likes the best. Good luck! |
Toys, Toys & Toys Cheap toys do NOT make for good toys. That's my rule of thumb. Here is a list of retailers that sell excellent toys for the rough and tumble terriers: http://www.quintessentialpet.com/%22...Plush+Toy.html http://www.quintessentialpet.com/Tin...Bone+Toys.html If you live in the Palm Beach Gardens, FL area, go to: www.pawsofbella.com - It is a true luxury pet boutique and she carries a great deal of wonderful toys!! In fact, if any of you want to email me directly for a list of luxury pet boutiques near you, please do so. My dogs have already destroyed these toys. Took them a matter of minutes. Petco carries a toy that is called a fire hose. Its made out of the same material as fire hoses and I swear by them. They are great and they last. I couldn't find them on the petco site but i did a google search and found them for you so you know what they are. Give them a shot. I swear by them. Memphis is the same way as your little guy. Here is the link: http://www.pooch.ca/cat293_1.htm |
re: toys and fire hoses Interesting. I will get in touch with the manufacturer. Thank you for the link! Quote:

Oh all 3 of my dogs love these things. I have one in each size for them. They are great and I love that they float so when I take Recon to the lake I can play fetch with him in the water and dont worry about the thing sinking. Seriously give them a try. We have yet to destroy one, and Recon is knows as the Terminator in our house when it comes to toys. |

What is the point in getting ahold of the manufacturer?? |
Is BellaPooch some sort of sales rep for pet merchandise sites?? |
....uuuummm...because that's what I do. I represent manufacturers and designers and consult business owners. :) Quote:

Nylabone keys My sister got Alley a set of Nylabone keys when he was just 4 months old. They seemed so big because he couldn't even pick them up. Now, at 11 months, he's dragging them around everywhere. He loves to chew on them. He also can destroy a stuffed toy in a matter of minutes. I also have a kong ball that he loves. I put a Science Diet biscuit in it and he'll play with it a long time! |
no matter how tough a stuffed toy says it is, there is always a way to destroy it. if you think about it, dogs are meant to open the animal and pull the "stuffing" out of it. Edgar always looks like he's accomplished something when I leave the room and come back to a winter wonderland in the living room. |
We also bought the Nylabone KEYS. Our two Yorkies ALWAYS want the SAME toy at the same time. There can be 2 toys exactly alike on the fllor and they always feud over the same toy the other one wants. At least with the Nylabone KEYS, there are 3 keys so they don't fight as much over those. Good investment! |
As far as the Kong being too hard for a puppy to chew.... They have a Puppy Kong! its Baby blue and white swirled and is softer than the regular Kong. Its small and great stuffed with their favorite yummy inside! |
