I don't like to show, don't have the time, tried a professional handler, can't deal with difficulties at this time. He will be neutered and bile acid tested before leaving here.

This seems so sad to me, can't you just love him as a pet? He's so handsome championed or not.

I'm a BREEDER--
 
I'm selling Cooch so that he can be loved as a pet. If they are to continue with their endeavor Breeders cannot keep all their dogs forever. We keep the special needs ones that would be difficult to place, but the healthy, desireable ones are much better off in private homes after their breeding and show careers are over. I already have a number of champion dogs here, and Cooch's parents and some siblings. I don't NEED him here for breeding at this time and prefer to see him be a pampered pet. He will be loved here until I feel someone better wants him.:)

He's a wonderful little dog. I dislike showing, can't stand to be at the show site and am not free to travel to such anyway. After many years and multiple tries I do not feel comfortable leaving a dog completely in the care of a handler, which is what I would have to do now that he needs the majors to finish. There are very few majors available in my region, so it's now time to decide to send him away with a handler or place him as a pet. This is a very gentle mannered little dog I do not believe would do well traveling with a handler. I also do not feel comfortable having no ability to supervise the handling.
I'm sorry I ever got involved in showing. I've never had such difficult births here or as many dead puppies as with these so-called show quality dogs. I'm reconsidering, at the suggestion of my vet, what the heck we're doing to this breed.

Funny you should mention his size. I thought it was quite nice too. I just weighed him and he's 4 lbs 2 oz. He could stand to be a little heavier, but at 1year old he's really still filling out. I picked him up from his handler this morning after a disastrous showing last weekend in Balson Spa NY where he couldn't even pick up a reserve. I know the dog that got 3 of the 5 reserves and last time I saw that one last spring he was a scraggly haired 2 year old limping around the ring but still picking up points. I wonder if it has anything to do with his owner being an AKC judge.
Anyway, Balston Spa finished me off. My handler's feeling is that Cooch was beautifully groomed and showing well but the judges don't seem to be liking his small size this year. Six years ago I went to my first show with a gorgeous 6 lb dog that looked big and clunky next to the itty bitty things that were popular that year. I guess you really have to follow trends and be ready to run with the latest fad.:)

Wow! I just looked at Cooch's picture and he is very pretty! Too bad that I didn't live closer I'd love to give him a wonderful home. It sounds like you really had a hard time in the show ring. I've heard it can be a very difficult thing to be involved with.

He's so beautiful. Someone will want him I'm sure. He's just a little expensive for me. I just love his face and his size is perfect. I understand you can't keep them all, I just get way too attached to mine. I hope you find the right home for him soon.

He's a perfectly healthy little dog with no health or behavioral issues whatsoever. I just plain don't want to be involved in showing any more, nothing wrong with the dog. He's beautiful and I'm proud he came this far.
