Tiny harness... When i collect 'Pixie' in 5 weeks she will be fully vaccinated and ready to go! lol anyway..i'm on the hunt for a very small harness..most of the pet shops i have looked in don't stock anything anywhere near small enough for a tiny yorkie! I think maybe Ebay might be my best bet...i don't know where else to look. I quite like the Puppia harnesses...anyone got one of those and where did you purchase it? :aimeeyork |
Petsupermarket has some small cute ones, and they will fit them for you. |

Hello Kerry I Had The Same Problem With Harvey - Eventually I Found A Harness That Looks Like A Figure Of Eight,with A Clip To Attach The Lead To In The Middle, The Top Circle Being Smaller To Go Over The Head And The Other Circle Wrapping Around The Body, It Is Fully Adjustable. It Works Great For Us, But It Is Not Very Trendy Etc, Just Blue To Match His Extending Lead..... I Got This At My Local Market, They Have A Large Pet Stall And Are So Helpful (they Had Me Take Harvey In So They Could See This Tiny Baby I Had Talked About). If You Cant Get Anything Let Me Know And I Will Look Around For You Up Here.... Bye For Now |

Thanks all for your responses...i appreciate any help i can get! I have found some ebay shops that sell puppia harnesses..so i think i may get one of those..(if a little pricey!) the ferret harness is a fabby idea!! and that website is cool too..and thanks Diane for the offer! i hope you and Harvey are well! ;) Just come back from visiting family in Essex over the weekend which was lovely..and summers arrived! it is HOT! :D |

I called into my nearest Pets At Home today & they'd opened a new section called "Boutique". Amongst the other stuff they had some small harnesses. The very smallest size of one design was too small for my little Ellie & she weighs 3lb. |

I emailed my breeder today and mentioned i was looking for a small harness for pixie..and she said she is 'not in favour of harnesses at all'..she didn't say why..so emailed her back to ask her...im waiting for her reply..i wonder why though?:confused: anyway..she said she uses a very Light Weight Slip Lead and she will give me one when i collect Pixie. She is a very knowledgable breeder, she has been showing at Crufts & breeding for 46 years so she should know what she's talking about!:p I was just a bit surprised really as most YT'ers on here recommend/use them..i thought they were the best thing to use as it doesn't put pressure on their fragile necks..anyway..i will see what her reasons are and let you know! ;) |
I just got a reply from her! She said she doesn't use harnesses because they ruin the coat (important if you show at Crufts i suppose!) and you have less control of the dog. She said she will give me a slip lead when i collect pixie..so i will give that a try first..i may still get a puppia harness though.:) |
We got a small step-in harness for Scooter and it works really well. I looked at the ferret harnesses as well, but I was concerned because the ones I saw looked as though the front loop might put stress on his neck. jmo |

Puppia do a good range of harnesses and the smallest size is pretty tiny (although perhaps not small enough for a really really teeny yorkie). You can buy them from www.petlondon.co.uk. I use them for my 3 and they work great. |
