has the uk fallen out of love with the yorkie?????? i ask this question because for the past 2 weeks i have advertised my 2 little boys to find loving homes and not a call or an enquiry i think the americans love this breed more than the brits this is weird i thought people would really want these guys they need mummys and daddys to look after them they are getting bored what do you think are they not as popular anymore?? |
Yorks I think you are right..Americans are crazy about Yorkies...they are number 3 in AKC listings. What are the top ten breeds with the UK Kennel club? Best wishes |
i think yorkies are ether number 2 or 3 in the uk. maybe its cos they are boys as girls seem more populer or its the wrong time of year as people are going away on holiday. also depends how much you are asking as they seem to be any thing from 200 to 750 not sure why though.:) |
hi thanks for the replys i am asking £350 not bad i think with 6 weeks free insurance pedigree papers i think thats a good deal i think i just feel so sorry for them they need individual attention really, thanks for your comments i feel the holiday season maybe to do with it |
Oh no,have you still not got homes for them? i would take one but money is tight at the moment. I think they are as popular as ever, but people all seem to want girls. I think also people have adopted those 204 yorkies from that old womans puppy farm. I hope you find new homes soon  |
I think it has to do with the holiday season. Hope they find the perfect homes soon. |
pups If it is because they are males, then the public must be educated to the fact that males are the best pets. Stress neutering so they will not mark, provide a couple belly bands until they can be neutered. Believe me, there was a time many years ago when we could not give away males..then I started offering a free first grooming and free boarding. I picked through thrift shops for carriers, blankets, toys and bowls..the males got a super send off and the tide turned...now I find males are very much in demand. Take them out to the park and public places where people can see them..do you have a stroller. We do it all the time.. Can you put a notice in your vets office..use free Internet sites in the UK..I have seen a number of them..good luck |
3 Attachment(s) thank you and i must say my little Dexter my only boy is a dream no trouble, i cannot understand what the problem is with boys , i hope the tide changes towards them because people are missing out on loyal fantastic friends i just feel sad for the pups they are ready to start there new lives with there new families and if people would just come and have a look i know they would be loved i dare anyone not to fall in love its impossible! |
the price you are asking is very good so must be cos of holidays and cos there boys aww bless them id have them if i had the money:) |
Have you had any luck, finding them homes yet? how much do they weigh and what lines do they have in their pedigrees? :) |

Thankyou P.S Where do you live?.:) |
4 Attachment(s) i would love them to go together but if a loving home is offered to one baby i would seperate i understand that 2 pups is hard work i live in lincolnshire and this is mum and dad there are no known health problems that i am aware of mums great grandparents are from the pentop line daddy is from the valentino i hope this helps maggie is black and tan a you can see and daddy is a handsome fella even if i do say so myself |
Aww,yes mummy and daddy are very good looking. I think Linconshire is a bit too far away for me,im in hampshire.Do you know how far it is? I will have to dig out my babies pedigrees as i think one of mine has the valentino line. Are they £350.00? Im going to talk to partner.;) |
yes daddy is from the valentino line i have no idea how far you are from me to be honest thank you for the interest these little chaps are so cute they just need new mummies and daddies now bless them they have even learned that first thing in the morning to go in the garden to the toilet with my yorkies can you believe it i am potty training them too! |
2 Attachment(s) these pic were taken 2day these are the 2 babies i have left gorgeous |
Thanks for posting pic's they are lovely looking dog's is Dexter the daddy of the pups?. |
yes Dexter is daddy, i must stress whoever takes these pups does not breed from them as dexter has cryptorchid 1 undescended testicle i did not mean for him to breed but he did i am having him castrated this month i am sorry i did not mention this before but i have discussed this on yorkietalk in the past i will not lie to anyone so these guys are pets only |

thank you for the well wishes i am so sorry for your loss the vet should have ecommended removal of the testical , this problem i have been advised is not always hereditory she thinks dexter maybe a one off because dexters dad and grandpa is owned by my parents so i know a little about his lineage i hope this does not put anybody off because i think most folks have there boys operated on it stops them marking territory and wanting to go out on the razzle for girlfriends ha ha!, i think i will drop my prices for them to help things along maybe £300 each would be easier for people |

PLEASE excuse my ignorance, but what are belly bands and how do they work. I have not heard of them, even though I have just bought my third Male Yorkie (as my oldest passed away recently) I have one of 9.5 years who is neuted, but my puppy won't be neuted until he is at least 6 months old. Please let me know all about these bands :) |
A belly band is a piece of material that goes around the little boys belly and over their willy, to stop them marking the house. |
Oh I see, I assume you remove it when you want them to go to the loo. Is it not a tadd cruel in any way (I am not judging anyone here at all) Just a thought/question  |
Yeah, just remove it when their outside. I'm not sure if its cruel as I have never used them but it soaks in the wee and stops your carpet/furniture getting ruined. |
I use belly bands, they are not cruel and prove to be a great potty training aid. Like Alona said they prevent furniture, carpets etc being marked. You can put a little pad inside to absorb the urine, incase any accidents should arise, and when you let him out to the toilet just remove the band. They fasten with velcro, so are easy to put on and take off :) |
