Help with fringe?????? Ruby's fringe flops over her eyes all the time, i have tried parting it but it goes straight back and she doesnt like bows/clips. Is there anything else I can try???? |
The trick to getting your dog used to wearing a band or clip is to use only a tiny bit of hair in it at first. Gradually increase the amount until you're able to get the whole top hair into the band or bow. If all else fails, some people clip the hair right at the brow into what's called a visor. Good luck to you & welcome to yorkietalk! |
I have this problem! I am growing out Tootsy's hair so that I can put it in a bow again, and it is always in her eyes. What I have found works is a very strong gel. I had used Petsilk Gel, but now Tootsy's hair is getting very difficult and wants to go its own way no matter what. So, I have resorted to using my hubby's hair gel - L'Oreal Studio Indestructible Gel! It is the only one I have tried that keeps her hair out of her eyes for a whole day. I brush and comb her each morning and redo the fringe area, adding a touch more gel if needed. I wash her once or twice a week depending on how mucky she gets, and the gel seems to come out easily. She has quite a sensitive skin, but has had no reaction to the L'Oreal gel at all. Hope you find this works for you, too. |
We always trim Lola 'eye brow's' as we call them. She has never kept a band in for long, she alway's thinks it's a game and runs about until she has shaken it out! Lol. Laura :) Lola :aimeeyork |
Hi, I am new to the sight & just reading your post, I to have a Tootsie ,I have never heard another dog with the same name before |
1 Attachment(s) I keep Pixie's fringe cut short and spikey. I just trim it every couple of weeks. It keeps her face looking neat. |

A very big welcome to the site. I have found it so friendly and helpful and I am sure you will too. I did not name Tootsy. She was given to me by someone who rescued her from a difficult situation, where she was not been cared for correctly. She was underweight, ill, extremely anxious, and inclined to snap. What a difference in her today!! She is such a happy, friendly and loving little cutie who never snaps. We just adore her and she is spoiled dreadfully, I'm afraid. She has really changed our lives for the better. With regard to the name, when I was walking Tootsy, I met a lady with her dog who was also a Tootsy! It is not a very common name, I agree. You must tell us all about your Tootsie. Hugs, Yvonne:wavey: |
Edna's dog on Emmerdale is called Tootsie :) |
i will have to try these. I am trying to train natalie now to wear a bow. she does pretty good at keeping it in but I have to let her hair grow out some before it will really stay in. |
