Yorkie that doesn't think he's a dog! Hi guys, I have a 2 and a half yr old yorkie called Tiny. He is the sweetest little dog and loves people but he has such an issue with other dogs! He isn't aggressive or anything like that, he just ignores them! I take him for walks and all the other dogs want to sniff and play, are being submissive etc and Tiny just stands there looking the other way!! I did take him to puppy training class but he is only 2kgs and we were paired with an Afghan Hound! If anyone knows of any Yorkie playdates or playmates in the Cheshire area please let me know. His vaccs are all up to date and he is neutered. Or if anyone elses Yorkie behaved the same, how did you teach him that he is a little dog?? :aimeeyork |
My little Chloe [R.I.P] would do the same thing. She would approach another dog but after that just ignore it, mind you if you asked her for a kiss first she'd look at you uot the side of her eye, then after repeating the request she'd put her head next to your mouth so you could kiss her, but rarely would she kiss anyone else. I suppose its just in their character. Better that than being over eager or fearfull as their less likely to get attacked. |
Tink was also the same when she was alive...in fact with all animals. But Bluebelle is the opposite....if there is a pile on, Bluebelle is right there. |
pip is happiest playing with smaller dogs like him. he runs around with the dog's where we live. They are mostly jack russels and yorkie sized cross breeds - ideal size for living on a boat. there was a BBQ here last saturday and the dogs had great fun running around and eating burgers! he's def wary of bigger dogs but just follows them sniffing their lower legs aww lol. |
my dog is the same way; she loves people but she wants nothing to do with other dogs; she really things she's human :) |
tizer and bow are the same they wont look at other dogs at all, where as charlie woofs and jumps at them (so embarresing!) |
My mom called it early on, she said that Bella was really a cat in a dogs body. I have so many people ask me why she acts like a cat its bizarre. The way she licks herself, or wraps herself around peoples legs or the way she sits on the window sill Its funny because she's never been around another cat and when we occasionally pass one walking through the fields she goes crazy and wants to chase after it |
