Harness in the UK
 
Hi -

Has anyone found a light and comfy harnes in the UK? I need something Belle can wear all day at the airfield so we can get her on/off the lead quickly if planes are mooching about.

I'd like a nice pretty one, but her being comfy is more important. She is about to grow out of the one I have for her.

If you found any, then please let me know.

just ordered a harness on a sight called shopforyourpets, they go from 10 inches on the chest measurment, its a pretty pink but they do other colours. waiting for it to arrive. rosie is really tiny so i'm hoping its as good as it looks. i'll let u know what its like when it arrives.:)

I got one that doesn't adjust around the front part and it's not sitting right.

just had an e-mail telling me the harness i ordered is out of stock. Really disapointed, its the first one I found that would fit that didn,t cost a fortune. Will keep looking.:(:mad:

What measurements are your dogs? I might have a spare harness that might fit one of your dogs.

thanks 4 the offer. rosie is 7in around the neck and 10in chest, found several on the net but all the really small ones tend 2 be in the states and bring new to all this i'm a little cautious about giving out my details. Am going to look in pets at home 2morrow, their web sight claims 2 have one that goes down 2 11in, just hope its true.:thumbup::thumbup:

Some pets stores stock rabbit and ferrit harnesses. Both me and both used them on our two till they grew up. I'll measure my harnesses tomorrow to see if any go down that small. The one I think that might do is a purple nylon with bone or paw prints on, I can't really remember which now.

I use the puppia ones and the step in one sizes smaller than the rest :D

Lottie is around the same measurement and she wears the extra small I will lokk for a link for you.:D

dog clothes online at Elmo's, huge range of dog clothing, dog fashion and accessories including dog harnesses, dog leads, dog collars and dog beds plus small & big dog clothing and puppy clothing - Soft Dog Harnesses

Here is a link there are different types but the puppia ones where you dont have to put them over the head run smaller than the other puppia harnesses.Hope this is of help.

i have looked at and considered the puppia step ins but wasn't to sure as rosie is still only a baby and didn't want to spend lots on something that might only last a few months. but seeing that the sizes look okay, i had a normal puppia for chloe when she got old and began having breathing problems and i loved it as it was so gentle and its what i will probably go with for rosie. thankyou all for your suggestions.

popped to pets at home today and found a rogz puupy harness to fit rosie, nice pretty pink but a bit fiddly to put on. when i got back i looked on ebay as suggestad and found a dear dog harness in a small, similar to the puppia but acording to the reviews they run smaller than the puppia, its a deep pink with matching lead, all for £14.00 +p&p, still better than the shop price and they didn't stock any small sizes. Should be here in 4to5 days so heres hoping.:thumbup:

I went to the pet store and got a really basic harness, it's just plain black nylon, but had the least number of plastic clips and adjusters on it. I'm still not keen...

I have had 2 harness's made to fit (with matching leads) for Poppy by Chattiesmom. She is in America but she will ship over at very reasonable prices. They are made from silk so are very soft and comfortable and can be made in loads of different colours. I am extremely happy with mine.

harness arrived
 
Rosie's new harness arrived today and she looks really cute in it. the small size fits nicely but she still has growing room. I must admit those little silk bow harnesses look so sweet, I can just immagine her in one, but will wait until she has finished growing. Alfie thinks this one was brought as just another means for him to drag poor Rosie around with. Took her on a walk to try it out and were doing o.k until 5 minutes into the walk it started thundering. Ah well it's one way of teaching her theres nothing to fear. Working so far.

Symph2001 - I have one similar to the petsmart one, but it's loose on the part that the head goes through and she is constantly doing some kind of gymnastics to get her leg through that!

I have a nylon blue one with matching lead that i have had since i got Harvey, he is only 3.5lb so it has been a problem finding things for him.

The other day i was in like a cheap pound shop type place and i saw a cat harness and lead - again the nylon type but though for one pound it will be good as a spare, so i bought it in red. :D

hi, i bought boo's harness from range and it's cat one, has little pink paws on it and adjustable neck and tummy straps, was less than a fiver too x boo is only 5 months and a teacup size

This sounds like the one I got for Hedley, it was a kitten harness and the only one that would fit when we first got him. Unfortunately they only had pink and its caused a few remarks.

He has now got used to a collar and we have actually found one that fits, but what bothers me is with quite small dogs even small collars seem bulky and lumpy, particularly when reduced down to size. The fastening clip creates quite a bit of bulk too.

I would like to find a really comfy collar for him!
