Aurigel ear cleaner I wondered if anyone has tried this ear cleaning gel. It contains tea tree oil. I am looking for a good cleaner for Tootsy's ears. Luv Yvonne |
I've always used *Epi Otic* .......... you can read about it here ......... Epi-Otic Ear Cleanser I am not affiliated with this product nor this particular website - just sending to you for information. I've always bought my Epi Otic at my vet. HTHs .......... |
Thanks for the reply and rec. -I will have a look at this. If your vet keeps it in stock then it must be good. Thanks again. Luv Yvonnexx |
I just read about it and wanted to ask you how you use it. Do you squirt some into the ear before wiping? I don't know if Tootsy would let me do that! Luv Yvonne |
Yes Yvonne ....... I've used Epi Otic for years when grooming my toy poodles and just recently used it on my Son's Labradoodle. I did all my own bathing and clipping (had poodles for 30+ years) but I'm not sure if I'll groom my yorkie, which I'm picking up this weekend !! ...... hooooooooooooray :D You just squirt a bit into the ear and then quickly massage the ears (folding the ears down onto themselves of course :)) Then you can take either a soft face cloth (wash cloth) wrapped around your index finger and wipe the ears out or do as I did and use a q-tip (very carefully!!) and get any wax and dibris out of the ear. With my poodles I always pulled the ear hair and cleaned that all up before I used the Epi Otic. The dogs didn't mind it at all - they would shake their head a time or two after I put the Epi Otic squirt in the ear and massaged them but after that they never bothered at all. HTHs .......... |
How exciting!! You are getting a Yorkie this weekend!!! You MUST tell us all about him/her please. Are you getting a puppy? Thanks for the advice on how to use the ear cleaner. I am going to order some and see how I go. I have never cleaned her ears before! The vet told me they looked fine and not to upset her by cleaning them (she is a very anxious dog). I feel that I should clean them, though. I also want to try and remove the inner hair too, if at all possible. I will just go slowly and do what I can, without getting her too upset. Thanks again and I will be looking forward to hearing about your new baby!:yay_jump: :yorkiesar Yvonne xx |
