Do you order things from America? Just wondered. There are so many things recommended on this site that just aren't available over here. Do you order any of them from the States? If so, how have you found it works out? Are there any problems? What's delivery time like & is postage a fortune? |
Hi Meggie I have ordered things from the States in the past. The postage is expensive and so I only order very light things. I am going to get some supplements from a pet nutritionalist, though, and one of the YTs has kindly offered to post them to me using the cheapest form of postage. You need to be careful about tax & duties so you have to keep the value of each parcel below the level at which it becomes due for duty charges. I did look it up, but cannot remember what it was. It is easy enough to check up on. I have ordered from ChattiesMom and also from tinkerbells closet and the later took 5 weeks to arrive but Chattiesmom sent the items much sooner- a couple of weeks. There are SO many things I would like to get from the USA, but I need to find someone going over who is prepared to shop for items for me and bring them over. Hope this help. Perhaps someone else has some more advice. Luv Yvonne xx |
Thankyou Yvonne, yes that's a big help. I've found out Petcetera stocks a lot of the grooming products that I hadn't been able to find over here before, so I'm going to order some things from there this week. xx Meggie |
Hi Meggie If you don't mind doing so, will you let me know what they cost you in postage and duties, Meggie, as then I could order from them, if it is not too bad? They do have some lovely grooming products, don't they. Luv Yvonne xx |
The UK Petcetera? I have bought things from the State before, a bottle of shampoo, some Ally Oops products and clothes for my girls. Shipping has always been very reasonable. :) |
The Petcetera I've ordered from is in Whitchurch, Shropshire, so no import duty. Orders over £50 are free p&p, under that it's £4 xx Meggie |

Which stores did you buy things from, Blossom? I found that the bigger stores seem to charge a lot - more that the cost of the actual item ordered! Perhaps I have been unlucky. Luv Yvonne xx |

I ordered some petsilk gel from america as it was recomended on this site by a few people and it cost me about £14 for product and shipping Tracy x |
I order from america all of the time, they seem to have a lot more choice over there. Postage is more but not too much and items usually take 1-2 weeks to arrive. |
