So sorry he went thru all of that. I bet he was pertified! Glad that he checked out okay at the vets. It's a shame that people don't take responsibility for their dogs actions.

I would give Tino lots of love and attention. Baby him more than usual. when something scares mine, I try to get them to go up to it and not be afraid be it a noise or another dog. I don't know about having been biten or hit by a car. Just give him some time and lots of love. Good Luck!:)

Oh my gosh. That made my heart stop when I read the first half of your post. I'm so glad that it wasn't worse. He may have checked out okay, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a headache and some stress.

Since there's nothing medically you can do, I would simply forget the housework and errands today and just lay on the couch or floor with him. He wants to be with you and he's probably getting tired of following you around. ;)

I'd be looking for that dog who bit him owner!!That dog should not be allowed in a public dog park with those issues!! It is unsafe for other dogs to be around him!!!IMO

I'd say just let him hang on you and around you today... he's scared... and rightfully so.

I agree, if this is what he needs at the moment, I would just spend my time cuddling him and carrying him around as much as you are able to do. It must have been so frightening for him and will take him some time to get over, poor little boy. I agree about a possible headache or other aches and pains which, while not being serious, are uncomfortable for him. If it continues for more than a day or two, I would ask the vet to look at him again and see if something has been overlooked. If not, perhaps she would give him some painkillers, just to see if this helps. At least then you will know whether it is just the shock and fear, or if he is actually in some discomfort and pain.

It is SO scary reading these stories. It can happen to any of us! My biggest fear is Tootsy getting away from me and running into the road. You must have been shattered afterwards, as well as Tino. I really feel for you, as well as for Tino.

That's my reason for not visiting a dog park. That and knowing some don't
have their shots.
Thank heavens that car did not run over him. Poor baby.

I would give him lots of love.. but also i think you need to make sure he doesnt keeps afraid ... so go outisde with carefully and let him use to the car and dogs again..
Otherwise he will scared all the time maybe..

ALso when he act more weird and dont want to eat and still cries please go back to the vet, The dog from my mom was also bitten by another dog, the vet couldnt see anything and he said he was ok,.but you never know how the inside is damage. and then your in time if something is injured that you cant see on the outside. we were to late for our dog. .. i dont want to scare you.. but keep an eye out on him.

hi there tezza, sorry to hear about tino he was so lucky, i think he just want's to b e picked up and be loved, a bit of security hope he's well.

I'm so sorry this has happen. Just treat him like you have before, nothing more or less and he will be just fine. I doubt if he would enjoy the park again but maybe in time. ;)

Lots of love, cuddles and attention will help him feel better.

He is still really scared of going out and when i put his harness on he just wont move, i`m going him lots of hugs and kiss. It don`t help with me just going throw a bad split from a violent partnership and he got scared with him trying to kick the door in. He now will not leave my side at all xxx

Oh Michelle, I am so sorry to hear about this. We were wondering why we didn't see you on the forum. Be brave, sweetie, and don't weaken and let him back into your life. Please, please don't. You do not deserve to live with a violent partner, nobody does. Take out a restraining order right away to prevent him kicking you door etc and upsetting you and Tino. Don't let yourself be a victim - you are better than that - he is the one with the problem not you.

I have a friend who was in the same position due to her partner's alcoholism. He was so sweet normally, but violent when drunk. She eventually got the courage to throw him out. Now she has a lovely guy in her life who is kind,caring and loving. She is so happy now. She had thought she wouldn't find anyone else, but we all kept telling her she would, and it took a bit of time, but she did. Now she can't believe that she let her ex talk her into giving him 'one more chance' and was swayed by his tearful apologies. You just cannot live that way, life is too short. I am pleased to say that the shock of her actually throwing him out, made him sort himself out and he has been dry for 18mths and is doing an art degree! So it worked out well for both of them and he is very grateful to her now. They are actually friends now. Not every story has such a positive ending but the ending is up to him, not you.

We are here for you if you need support, Michelle. I am sending you lots of virtual hugs and lots of love. Poor little Tino must think the world is a very scary place. Once your life is sorted out, he will start to calm down and slowly get his confidence back. You will just have to continue giving him the cuddles and love as well as lots of patience. Give him a kiss and cuddle from me.
