My dog Casanova entered Open class and became one of eight finalist. Crufts its a great show, i liked it sooo much!!! Now i have a problem, please help me. Last weekend we got QUALIFICATION FOR CRUFTS 2009, ofcourse we will come, but i dont know which class to choose for my boy? He we will be 27 months next March.  Can someone explain me about classes in England, because here in Europe its different. |
Congratulations on this year and for qualifying for 2009. See this link (bottom of page) for an explanation of the classes. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/petplanet...og_showing.htm You can enter more than one class, depending on qualifications, but you might want to check out the show schedule which is due out in September (I think) to ensure your entries don't clash timewise. Also keep in touch with the Kennel Club to check out any changes in classes - there was some talk about tweaking the limit and mid limit classes a bit if you're interested in those. :D |
So that means that my dog can enter any of these classes: Maiden, Novice, Undergraduate, Graduate, Post Graduate, Mid Limit, Limit and Open? Because he doesnt has any CC. Am I right? Thank you for website. :rose: For example, how do you choose a class for your dog? For long hair or others criterions? Very sorry for my stupid questions but im lost with so many classes. |
OK I've dug a bit deeper for overseas exhibitors. It seems you may be restricted in the classes you can enter - sorry, I didn't mean to mislead you  This is on the Crufts site: http://www.crufts.org.uk/dog_exhibit...lifying_shows/ Class definitions are the final section on the page. In case of any doubts you have, it may be best to contact the Kennel Club direct http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk for a copy of their guidelines, rules and regulations and have a word with the Kennel Club equivalent organisation in Lithuania. As to the criteria. It starts with getting as close to the published breed standard as possible, then, perfect preparation of the dog. It moves to the judge's interpretation of the standard and ends with the judge's personal preference on the day. I guess it's the same the whole dog-world over :) No matter what happens, you know you'll be going home with the best dog :D |
Here is what we have for Crufts as well : http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...78-crufts.html |
