the only one I seem to be the only one on this site, no one seems to come on? |
Hi and sorry you feel that way...I know you're on the Europe Regional forum but saw your post come up and wanted to say hello. There's not much activity on my regional forum either(mid-atlantic) but I still pop on there to check in so I know how you feel.:) I do see alot of people from all over on the general forums though...other people from the UK and such. Maybe you can start a thread on the general discussion and title it..anyone from xxxx..just to get an idea of who is from your area. But don't worry...we're all your friends. :D |
Hey Chelle! remember I'M HERE!!! LOL:p Us UK members need to keep this section alive!;) |

This is the first board I visit whenever I log onto the site :) |
I'm here too. Hello everyone. Do your little furbabies eat everything they come into contact with? When I take Max out, he eats grass, moss, twigs, plants, especially the lavender and heather. He's even eaten worms and snails. I don't let him, but he's like grease lighting. He's also on a lead, because he won't "come to heel" when I tell him. I had to run around a tree for an hour a few weeks ago, before I caught him and I was near to tears. I'm not fit enough to play these types of games lol. Even though I try to pass the plants quickly, and I don't even see him do it, he still manages to get a mouthful. I lost him in the house, which is a small bungalow, and couldn't find him anywhere. I heard noises coming from the back of the television cabinet, and after removing the music system, there he was all tangled up in cables. One of them was around his neck and I gave him a terrible row. I thought "he won't do that again", half an hour ago, he did the same thing. I've blocked both sides of the cabinet up, but he could have been strangled. Oh dear, now I'm babbling on, but have any of you had the endless eating thing and how did you stop it? He does it after he's just been fed too. |
I'm so glad that you joined. I'm on here quite a bit. |
YooHOOO!! I am here!:D I am from the Great plains region!! But I went to summer school at University of Durham, England!!!!LOL Many moons ago!!!:D I guess I was you neighbor for a short while at one time!!:D :D I loved England!! I really did!! The country side is so beautiful!! Or what I saw!:) |
glad you liked it over here, i live near heathrow airport, but just a short drive from mine is the country and its really nice xxx |
Oh, dundeemax, I have one just like yours! He's into everything, a real little devil :) The kitchen bin is his favourite snack bar  And he collects EVERYTHING! Nothing is safe. We have to hide anything portable, especially if it's shiny. Yesterday I must have left a biro about, so today I've had to strip the cream loose covers off the sofa & try to get out the very artistic blue ink design :( Previously it's been mobile phones, TV remotes, cutlery, & I've lost count of the computer memory sticks that have been mutilated. Apart from that he's so good I feel guilty when he looks at me like butter wouldn't melt as I try to keep a straight face & tell him off. |
Hello Meggie, My husband and I just look at Max and say "he's just got a lot of character", lol. He has been very good today, I almost choke on these words, because I know it's the lull before the storm. I haven't known anyone with a Yorkie, so this is the first close contact I have had with one, and to be honest, I'd look at his face all day, if I could. I love all the little mischievous antics that he gets up to. I can't get him to come to me on command, he thinks it's a game. I haven't been to worried up till now, because he's had so many new things to cope with, but he bolts when I open the house doors. I can see the inquisitiveness in his face, but he's getting faster and stronger. I'm so glad that he isn't the only furbaby to eat everything in sight, lol. |
I meant to ask, how do you add a photograph? |

Hi im here too, I pop in every now and then, but this is always the first board that i checK!!! |
Hello everyone, Max hasn't been well today, he appears to get travel sick. My poor wee boy was in the car and was sick twice. He's slept most of the afternoon and evening. Now the little devil has come to life, just as I'm getting tired lol. Since I last posted, I've been trying to get Max to come when I call him, to no avail. He looks at me, and I could almost swear he's laughing at me. We are supposed to be going on holiday for two weeks at the end of May, my younger daughter was supposed to be Max sitting, but she has a new job and it'll mean him going to kennels. We are thinking about cancelling the holiday. I'd very much appreciate everyone's input on the subject. Vivienne |
4 Attachment(s) Hello fellow Scot ! I am the mad Highlander up here on the outskirts of Inverness, with three 4lb tiny Yorkies.... Tara, >8, Casper, 5+, and Tammy, 4+. I have had Tara since a 6 week old puppy - got her in Bathgate in 2000. I bought Casper as a rescue - in 2004 at 19 months from Larbert....he was being attacked by his owner's breeding male. I bought Tammy in Oct 2006 from Peathill, near Fraserburgh - she was 3 years old and in a terrible state needing vetenary treatment. My hubby's dog is Tasha, age nearly 7...a show Bearded Collie, but we don't show her ! We bought her from Goole near Hull. I am usually on the GENERAL DISCUSSION if I am on, but I sometimes check on here too :) .....and I tend to be on through the night, when my hubby is on night-shift ! Hope to speak soon, Debra x x x x:animal-pa 1. Tara (The Queen) 2. Casper (Cheeky smiler) 3. Tammy (Tammykins / ASBO !!!) 4. Me last year with my babies at Loch Ness, a few miles south from my house. |
In answer to question..... Don't leave him at kennels...it could ruin him for life....read "Boarding" thread on GEN DISCUSSION dated 17th - this is what happens.....:( Phone your breeder or the Scottish Yorkie Association and ask them if they know of another Yorkie owner who could take him into their home as part of the family for the time you are away...you could return the favour ! Also, advertise or ask locally....there are often older people who have or have had Yorkies and would be perfect ! ;) If you google "Yorkie breeders", you could find some numbers yourself. I would take him myself, but Casper my male would be terrified of another male in the house and would shake, growl and bite through fear, as he was attacked by males before in his last home.....It was a lovely lady that had him and she was heartbroken giving him up, but she did it so he wouldn't be injured by her stud dog. |
hi Hi all my friends, my mummy has given me my own msn addy so my friends can keep in touch with me. I would like you to add me as mummy has never had a yorkie before till mshe got me and is finding me hard work LOL. Add me ValentinoYorkie@hotmail.co.uk __________________ |
Hello everyone, We have one more boarding kennel to look at on Monday, and if we're not happy, then our holiday will be cancelled. I did have a look at the boarding discussion, and even the kennels I didn't like were no where as bad as those described. We have relatives in Dornoch, Highland, and I have an old friend in Fraserbugh, although I have lost track of her. I still haven't managed to post a photograph, but I've been having problems with my pc and I'm having to use the laptop. (no photographs on here) Max had a slight accident, he was having so much fun with his ball, he forgot to ask out. Progress has been made today, however, he is dropping leaves and other bits of debris, on command. I'm really pleased with him. I think I'll just keep teaching him one thing at a time. I think I've found a way to get him to come to me when we're out. I slipped his squeaky ball in my pocket before I took him out to potty. He ignored me when I asked him to come. I squeaked his ball and hey presto, he was there in an instant. |
1 Attachment(s) Who are your relatives in Dornoch ? ....I have the SHAW's of Evelix and Criech who are my Mum's father's relatives up there. Let me know if you have trouble getting someone to look after your puppy;) Casper would be my problem, but I would help if necessary:) I know what it's like....I have no-one either to look after my three, and we just don't go away....which is fine, but with our daughter reaching 18 in September, and me being 40, hubby 41, it would be nice to finally travel ! Such is life....and my doggies are my life ! :D Hubby is off nights now, so I am on the horrible lap-top....slow, temperamental ***** of a thing...I hate it ! By the way....where did you get Max ? I might have heard of the breeder ! Also if you fancy a pal for him, a friend of mine...where I got Casper from is expecting 5 puppies ! (Larbert) .....Debra, Inverness, Highland Scotland:D Tammy, Casper, Tara:D |
Hello, My husband's cousin Sylvia has lived there for many years and brought her children up in Dornoch. They were brought up as brother and sister. Can't you guess where we got Max lol, Dundee :) That was a lovely kind thought, looking after Max, but I think even before we view the kennels, that we will cancel the holiday. I told my husband about your friends expected pups. The look I received spoke volumes    |
