Where Is Everyone?!! Hi there I am beginning to think I am all alone on this forum!! LOL! Seriously though I feel that we must all make a real effort to make this site work, so that more people will join. We could all share much more than we do, I think. For example, I am wanting to knit a jersey for my furbaby and if anyone wants the pattern they may pm me if they wish. I am trying to find the right wool and I also want to alter it a bit. Once I am finished knitting it, I will definitely show you all the result, good or bad (promise). The reason I bring this up is that I hadn't thought of sharing this on the forum until I started writing this! Perhaps many of us do this kind of thing? I am sure we could do as well as our US cousins if we tried. We really need this forum to share sites/ shops/vets/ groomers/food/treats/ and other things that we are able to get in the UK and the rest of Europe. Doesn't the US site just makes you drool?!!! They are so much better off than we are, as there seems to be a bigger market for Yorkie related items, dvds, books, health foods, treats, clothing etc. The cost of shipping it over is simply prohibitive so we really should try and share with each other whenever we find anything good on this side of the pond. If there are any skilled sewers and needlework people who want to start supplying us with items eg like the silk harnesses (that someone on the US site makes beautifully) I am sure we would buy them. (She also makes dogbeds and krackle toys and liver treats.) We must try and find members who are talented in these areas who would enjoy making these things for us. If the product is well made and value for money I am quite sure we would be love to support our members in this way rather than the big stores. I am making an effort not to just go straight to the US site, as there is so many more posts, but to come to our site first. These are just my feelings and I hope you don't mind me expressing them. I would love our site to be active and full of information etc. We would all get so much out of it. :ghug: :yorkietal Luv Franceen :aimeeyork |
I'm here!!;) I agree, there is never much happening in the European section, I usually go straight to the main site as there is more going on! I will make more of an effort i promise!:) |
Thanks so much for your reply, Kezza. Now there are two of us willing to make the effort. Let's hope more people will try to be more active on the forum. It would be real help to all of us. I know how tempting it is to put most of your posts on the US forum, as you get a lot of replies and good ideas. BUT, we can do this, too! Perhaps we could make a start by placing posts on both sites and then we can discuss which reply is best for the particular situation, on our site. Or we could discuss something we read on the US site that we felt was really helpful, just to get the ball rolling. Perhaps you or others have some better ideas to encourage posts? I am not saying that we shouldn't enjoy the US site, of course not, just not to ignore our forum so that it slowly dies. Thanks again for your support, Kessa. Luv Franceen :aimeeyork |
I have posted quite alot on here in the past but got few responses, I still come here though every now and again to see if there are any new posts, most of the UK members go straight to the main site too, as i think everyone does to be honest, I tend to come here if i need to find out something that can only be bought or found in the UK. |
Just thought I would say a Big Hello to you all. I also keep popping in this part but as you say there is very little posting here. I shall make an effort to keep coming this way. |
i think we need to get more people in here, i dont think that many people know about this part of the site as its right at the bottom for some reason, hope everyone is ok, not too many peoples on here from the uk :( shame that oh well we will keep checking down this part |
We definitely need more UK members. C'mon, tell a friend! One of the problems with your posts getting lost is the time difference. Your posts fall out of the "new posts" list before we even see them. |

I hadn't thought of the time difference! That does make it difficult. Thanks for supporting this forum despite this problem. At least some of us are going to make an effort and maybe more will join us. Perhaps we could put a post on the US site asking the UK and other European members to support this forum, as well as the US one? I love the US forum, but I do want to get this one going as it will be so helpful with regard to local suppliers of goods, vets etc. Luv Franceen |

I think it's great that we should try to get this board a bit more active. When I was really new on here, i posted a thread asking if it was always so quiet & the first reply was asking me if I was being sarcastic! Here's the link to it if you want to read it.... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64765 Others later replied in a bit friendlier vein, but I must admit I was a bit upset at the time. Anyway, I think it's great if we can help each other more, especially with finding stuff here in the UK. The tips on the American site are brilliant, but it's hard to take some of them up when you can't get all the products. xx Meggie |

Hello All, I just dropped in to say hi, look at the furbaby pictures and wish you luck getting more people to join your group. Since I stopped in I'll give a little history of JD(jack daniels) my 8 year old Yorkie, he's my third one, first one was Martini, and second one was Moulson. Was a family thing to name after drinks.. some people would tease on picking such names! JD does a Yearly Calendar for family every year and is quite the poser. Check out my name on Yorkie Talk to see more shots of him if you'd like. He's 5 pds. and quite the spoiled pup, 3 beds, one for each level in my townhouse!! Okay off to bed for me, up at 4 a.m. it's snowing here, and I'm hoping the roads aren't too bad for work tomorrow.. good luck again, ginger:) |

Lisa (and Rufus!) |
Hi , I just seen this thread and thought i would comment, I just started shipping over there i had my very first 2 orders go out. I was very pleased that shipping isn't that much more to ship to the UK:) It does take a little longer but not to much more expensive. I know that most People who make things for yorkies here have very reasonable shipping. As for the Silk Harnesses I think you were Talking about Chattiesmom (Cindy) she is awsome and has great shipping prices:) She does make a lot of different items including Nap sacks (dog beds) and Yorkie Yummies (doggie Treats) I can't wait to see the jersy you make i am sure it will be adorable:) Good luck and i hope you get more members to join and find an easier time getting all the lovely things your need over there to you all:) |
AwW, thanks for that lovely post! I hope we can get more people to join this particular forum, too. Sorry, I did get mixed up regarding the silk harnesses. What items do you sell? It's great that you are now posting to the UK. The USA seems to have far more for pets than we do in the UK and such good quality, too. I found this when I had my budgerigar as well. I was always ordering from the States, as the items were so good. Thanks again, and I hope you will often pop into this site. Luv Franceen xxx |
Hi I am here to in Lincolnshire, moved here from Kent 7 months ago. I didn't know there was a UK section of the forum. Lets get it really going & build it up. |
Welcome to this forum! A few of us are trying our best to get this forum going and are SO pleased to have another member who wants to do the same. I saw your posting on the US forum and was just going to pm you, asking you to post it in the European forum. Then I saw this post. Kezza and I thought it a good idea to tell UK and other European members, posting on the US site, to post on this forum as well, especially when welcoming new members on the US site who are European. As you found, so many people just don't realize this forum exists. As far as foods for your Yorkie, I cannot advise you as I am changing over to raw food prey diet (with lots of help, advice and hand-holding from other members!). I am sure that if you post that topic on this forum, you will get lots of replies. Nice to have you with us. :welcome4: Luv Franceen xx |
hello I only found this regional forum today and been using the other one, i`m always around as off work on long term illness x |
So pleased you found us, Chellbe46! I am so sorry to hear about your long term illness and can only hope that things improve for you. Meanwhile, you have us all to chat with about our little angels! I used to only post on the USA site as well, until I found this one. Somehow you don't seem to notice the 'Regional' heading, do you. Now I post on both. :welcome4: Luv Franceen xx |
Glad you found us! we need as many UK members as possible...there are not enough of us!:D |
There must be more than this of us, I see so many Yorkies in Lincolnshire, is it because we are near YORKSHIRE :D :D It is great to have this regional section... let's hope more will discover it. |
