Question about KC registering my pup Hi all UK YTers! I have a question...I was wondering how or if I can KC register my pup. I have his pedigree papers and he comes from a line of champions and I may want to breed him down the road but he isn't KC reg. Does the original breeder have to do this or can I? ...And if so, how? Thanks, lex |
The breeder is responsible for registering the litter. Both parents of the puppy must be already registered with the Kennel Club for any of the pups to be registered. Really the bitch's owner should have had a form from the Kennel Club at the time the mating took place as it needs also to be completed & signed by the owner of the stud dog. Were you given any reason as to why the puppy hadn't been registered by the breeder? You should only really need to transfer ownership of the puppy at the Kennel Club, simple enough but you still have to pay. I've never sold a puppy without registration papers, so I could be wrong, but I think only the breeder can do the initial registration. I should ring them & try to find why they didn't & if they would still register the litter. Here's a link to the relevant part of the Kennel Club website http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/346 |
I recently had Pixies Documents come through, my breeder is still registered as the owner and i have to transfer ownership and pay a fee to the kennel club. Pixie's registered name is 'Chevawn Such A Diamond'.:) |
Hi everyone. I have a three month old yorkie and was wanting to reg. her with the Kennel Club as I dont think the breeder done it, she gave me papers with all names of dogs on them and I noticed that my dogs dad had a KC number, so does anyone know if I can registered her with KC club if her dad is with them only. |
