Help! Where to buy yorkies near Toronto? Hi all, I'm new to this forum and I'm looking to buy a Yorkie soon so I could use all the help I can get! :) I'm looking for a small healthy female pup (around 3 lbs or so). I'm not extremely concerned about the price, more about getting the pup I want (as long as its not astronomical). This would be my first dog so I'm a big unsure as to what I should be looking for in a good breeder so I'm just wondering if anyone has any good or bad experiences they would like to share with me so I know who to look for and who to avoid. I live in Toronto but am willing to head to surrounding cities around 2-3 hours away. Thanks in advance!! |
good luck on your search...I hope you find what you are looking... |
also welcome to YT...it gets addicting...as you can tell by the number of posts i have...and I have only been on here for 2 weeks... but there is a lot of great info on here... |
Hi, Have you checked out puppysites or canadasguidetodogs (both.com addresses). They may be able to help you.Sorry the only breeders I know of are in B.C. Welcome to YT.There really is a group of wonderful people here! :) :) :) Best of luck in your search. |
As I just posted in another thread, this website is a good starting point... search for yorkies in Ontario. http://www.dogsincanada.com/Default.aspx?tabid=66 Several great breeders advertise there, but that doesn't mean that everyone advertising there is a great breeder. ;) As for what to look for in a breeder, I would ask that elsewhere on this site and I'm sure you'll get some great repsonses (more than you'll get in the Canada forum). |
Have you tried calling Jan from http://hometown.aol.ca/petitepawz/home.html - Jan is a wonderful caring breeder - I'm not sure if she has pups right now but she would be able to lead you in the right direction. |
:> Our first Post Well, my Fiance and I have bought a YT pup from a Very Nice guy. http://www.freewebs.com/silvasyorkies/index.htm He's located in downtown Toronto. I know that he has one more boy left. We bought the other. :>:> To think.... I wanted a Doberman.... I cannot stop thinking of our little guy. We named him "Tampa". He's just over 6 weeks. We'll have him mid july. Again, the guy, Eric was a Stand up guy! If you contact him, let him know that we sent you! When we have our pup here we will post pics...::> |
Soon I will be in the same "looking to purchase a dream of my life" position. When you are going to find a breeder, please let us know in the thread. Thankies. :p |
I got spencer from a very nice lady in Chatham Ontario, I will find her buisness card and post it for you if you would like. But good luck with your search & welcome to YT:D |
I just got a boy from Kingcreek in Sundridge hi There We just purchased from Kingcreek way North of Toronto. So far so good. I liked the owners when we met, and the puppy is very smart and alert and the size and health according to our Vet remains to be seen when we go for the second shots on Aug. 07. I will keep everyone posted. :animal-pa |
An Excellent breeder that I recommend. I got my yorkie from http://www.durreryorkies.com/ My little girl has a terrific temperment, cute and she's full grown at 6.3lbs. I'd buy another from her in a flash. When I take her out... Im constantly asked where I got her from. Even yorkie owners have commented that she is so cute and a couple have said that she is much cuter than their yorkie. I've seen lots of yorkies, big ones, long legged ones and maybe I'm biased but I've only seen one that is just a cute or cuter than my little girl. Good luck in your search. |
I got my yorkie from 1 Attachment(s) http://www.durreryorkies.com/ I got my Yokie from Betty Ann durrer in Hanover, On I am tickled pink with my little girl! She has a great temperment and is now full grown at 6.3lbs. Vet says she's supposed to be 6.0 I just feed her too many treats :) She is a head turner whereever I take her. Even my hubby likes to carry her when we go out. He gets so much attention :). I'd buy another yorkie from her. |
