Dead Dog thanks to Chicken Strips by Vitalife I believe that every great sadness can be used as a learning experience for others! My dads beautiful almost two year old bull dog died this evening. She was fine two days ago and yesterday showed signs I discomfort. He took her to the vet and she took blood work, then said the dog was in complete Kidney failure! Asked one question: do you feed your dog chicken strips from china? Not to his knowledge but w does feed her the vitalife chicken strips. They claim to be made in Thailand. The vet is 100% sure that this is the cause of the kidney decline and said vets see this every single day!!! Why are they still able to sell this dog killing stuff? I don't know! Please do not feed this product or any chicken strips or any vitalife products to Your dogs. I personally had an episode of my own Yorkie getting very sick a year at ago after eating over baked dried sweet potato wraps and they did not offer me am APOLiGY at all, just refunded my seven dollars. So frustrating. If I hadn't figure it out for myself, who knows what would have happened. They are not accountable for their product. These chicken strips are killing dogs! Do not feed them its just not worth it. Thanks! |
Oh my gosh!!! I am so, so sorry for the loss of your fathers dog. May he rest in peace!! Also, thank you for taking the time to post and warn all of us about these products! I can't believe that they are still on the market if there have been health issues with them on record. |
I am so sorry....it is just heartbreaking and a crime that they don't take these things off the market:( Please tell your Dad how sorry we are and I am sending prayers of comfort to you and your family. |
Only Usa or Canadian food....That can be bad enough. |
I am so sorry for your dad and the loss of his dog.....why these companies are allowed to continue to sell consumable products for our pets in this country, is a puzzlement to me....I suspect the bottom line has to do with politics....trade stuff and since "dogs are really not that big of a deal as far as worth is concerned", especially in those countries that continue to manufacture treats, etc that are killing our pets, I look for this to continue. Consumers and pet owners are going to have to continue to be vigilent and determined to spread the word of these dangers, to as many people as possible! |
Thank you for the warning and it is so heartbreaking that another sweet dog is dead because she ate a treat given by the person who loved her most to show love and appreciation to his baby. Isn't that cruel and depraved - to make a poison treat for loving dog owners to innocently give to their dogs to show love? These people making this poison should be strung up by their heels and let a few owners of dogs they've killed at them. Why our country doesn't stop this horror is beyond me. I doubt that the economy of either country is going to fail over the treats they make and no one in the FDA or other federal trade agency can morally justify those jobs making this junk if it results in a dog's death. I'm just sorrier than I can say that your dad's dog is that company's latest needless victim. I pray your dad can in time heal and want to give his heart to a another dog again one day. Hopefully, this will be stopped soon. |
I am so very sorry for your dad's loss. Another precious friend dies needlessly from tainted china chicken. Thank you for your post - it is always to get a head's up on doggie dangers. |
Charlene thank you so very much for posting this....I just threw away the bag I had! I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dad's dog....words can't express how this saddens me....yet another needless death of a beloved family member. RIP Little One...you will be missed and forever loved! |
So sorry for this loss. Thanks for getting the word out about the danger of Chicken strips. I am amazed that they keep selling them. |
Was a hard day Yes. Thank u so much everybody. It was a very hard day for my Dad! Looking at her empty little crate, etc - just heart breaking! You could see this sort of thing happening to an older dog (maybe) but a sweet, very loving two year old dog :( Enjoy every precious meant with your pets and never feed them vitalife crap :( I wish to god we had known and learned trough someone else instead of having to be the one to go through it. I said to my dad, you hear about these things but we just think this stuff happens to 'other' people :( Ouch! |
I'm so sorry to hear this. Yes it has happened many times. If we all collectively as pet owners stop buying these types of products they won't make them anymore. In China they are even selling rat meat disguised as lamb meat to sell for human consumption! If they are doing this for people food, what do you think they are doing for pet food?! And just bc it's from a country other than China does not make it safe. Pretty much any third world country you have to have the same assumption. Look at the tragedy in the garment factory in Bangladesh. Just overall there is not quality control, no safety measures, just any thing goes to cut costs. Only buy US or Canada sourced AND made. Even cattle raised in a different country I don't risk it. I've seen bully sticks with cattle raised in Brazil. Not a third world country, but I don't have enough knowledge on this to risk Uni's life on it. |
I am so sorry for your loss. How sad that is. Thank you for sharing what happen |
You tube videos of news reports proves this is true I just can't beleive it happened to US! I thought it only happens to 'other' people. Such a heartbroken weekend. My dads poor broken heart. Watch these: Chicken treats you tube videos YouTube |
Im so very sorry for the loss your father has experienced from the results of importing products from countries who do not value lives. Lucky for me I watched the marketplace show before I got Wallee and have never purchased anything like those treats after seeing so many young dogs die . It seems that since these countries dont mind putting lead in the paint on the toys they sell to our babies they will continue to have even less respect for our beloved pets. I dont buy anything that is not made in Canada or the U.S.A |
