Looking for Silver Yorkie in GTA to Orillia to Guelph Hi all, I am considering getting another Yorkie. I currently have a male Shih-Tzu 6 years old and a Yorkie male 4 years old. If I get another Yorkie, I would prefer one that will be silver when it grows uo or even adopting a slightly older silver one anywhere from 1 - 3 years of age. Does anyone have any suggestion of a real good / honest breeder? I'm willing to travel within reason. :-) |
My two are silver, but i wouldn't suggest my breeder at all...the only other one around that I can thing of has now retired, due to her husbands sudden passing... try Dayjuel..she is in Oshawa, or Adanta Yorkshire Terriers...she is a sweetheart, I forget where in Ontario she and her husband are...also check the Dogs Annual...there is a list of ckc breeders...hope that helped. These two are the other ones i had spoken too when I was on my quest to find another yorkie...I ultimatley went with a Biewer...my Jersey. |
Hi Jacqui! I know you from Wayne's FB site. Did you get your adorable Biewer from the woman in Oshawa? I always thought Biewers were almost double the cost of Yorkies. |

I paid 1500.00 for her...some are really expensive, I have seen them for 2500.00 and up...sorry I cant pay that kind of money....so no not double. |

I just don't know, maybe I'll end up with a Biewer too. Your Jersey is just so cute! There is a breeder in Midland that I may visit... |

There are some Biewer's posted on Kijiji today, and they are advertising 4 generation pedigree (parents are IBC registered in Germany). They are in Midland. Also there are yorkies on there from a breeder in Newtonville who was featured on CMT's pick a puppy. Might find what you are looking for from either of these two. |

Anyone know anything about her? She's only been breeding since 2009. |

Any tips on what Canadians should ask a breeder? Should Canadian breeders have tested the parents for the same things the US breeders should? Other questions? |
Hi Liz..Cindy's the name and yes Wallee is a Biewer. I got him from a breeder in Campbellford..just a small breeder who has since retired from breeding. He didn't come with his registration, however both his parents are registered and she said I could get his papers if I wanted them. Since he is a pet and I have no intentions of showing or breeding I am not going to get the papers. I had papers once for a registered dog that ended up in the junk pile when he was neutered..lol I think you would like a Biewer..they are known for their "gentle" nature.. The ones in Midland look pretty good. (except the pink on the nose which my Wallee also has makes them inelligable for showing). I would go and see her and see what you think. You can always walk away. I know there is a breeder somewhere in Barrie as well, they come up all the time when you search on google but can't remember the name of the breeder at this moment. |

Thank you again, Wallee and Jacqui. Ohhh you're both in Whitby - how lucky for you to be close to each other - potential play dates for your puppies!! I wish I had someone close to me - maybe I should move to Whitby! ;) I'll continue looking around and will Google breeders in Barrie (that would be nice!) and will try to visit Gail in Midland. I'm afraid I'll fall in love with the first puppy I see and I don't want to make a rash/rush decision (not right now anyway). :) |
