Hi to all windsor on, neighbours!
I finally may have found a fur baby!:aimeeyork
I'm leaving for peterborough tonight to see him tomorrow morning. So by this time tomorrow, I may be a mommy!
Here's my question: Who's your vet, would you recommend him/her?
Also, all of you who have little boys, how much did u pay to neuter them?
Are they very "sick" when they come home?:(

There is a special for neutering at the emergency clinic on Wyandotte. Try calling them for a price. Also another tip is the store on Walker Rd. "For Your Fur Kids" have a chewy thats safe for our babies to chew and also they carry various better dog foods than you can get at pet smart. "Congratulations on your new addition." Yes they do get sick and either its from heredity or the breeder, this is a great way to find out about yorkies. If you need to contact me my e-mail address is on this site. Good luck:thumbup:

I'm in heaven, I was worried about the transition period for the little guy, but he's settled right in. No peeing or pooing in the house, no crying, he's awesome.
A friendly happy perky little guy.
My dh says he wigs out when he hears my car in the drive, and he's always at the door waiting for me when I get home.
The only thing I'm wondering about is...he has brown stuff crusted in his hair from his eyes. I'm having trouble washing it off. Is there some trick to getting rid of this?

The eye goop may be an allergy, food or environment. What are you feeding?
You can buy "eye pads" to clean, I use a warm tea bag, it usually does the trick, unless they have been running in tall grass and have lots of dust, or they have gotten crusty, then I use the pads after the tea.

I've had my little one for a week now. Such an enjoyable addition to the family.
My yorkie too has tearing, I use a baby face clothe and every morning wash his face with the warm wet cloth, he has come to like the face washing. I try to wash it more often if I see his eyes tearing more often.

The emergency vets is at 1315 Lauzon and I'd call and ask if the special on neutering was still on. The number is 948-7727. I've been thinking of getting Rambo neutered. He's been cocking his leg and peeing on my furniture. Good luck Neenagh and by the way my name is Bonnie Cullen.:thumbup:

I just wet a cotton ball with warm water and soak the eye for a bit till it softens, then it usually comes right out. I bought this stuff called Angel Eyes and its a powder that you spread over the food and they love it. You can buy it at the vets or any pet store. Rambo is only 3 lbs so he takes 1/4 tsp. hope this helps:rolleyes:

Try using a cotton ball. Just dampen it with warm water and wipe. A cotton ball is much softer than a wash cloth and I know what you mean about them loving it. They just sit there and are so happy your doing it.;) And by the way I'm from Windsor:thumbup:

I sent u a private msg.
I called the vet, and the special is indeed still on til the end of the month. I made sure that the vet uses gas, not intravenous sedation on small dogs, and have scheduled an appt. for Lupo to get snipped on friday. My dh doesn't want to do it! LOL he feels sorry for the dog!:p

How has your experience with Angel Eyes been? Has it resolved the staining on his fur? I have read conflicting opinions about it.:confused:

My Rambo already had surgery at the Emeryville vets when he was four months old. They used intravenous and he was fine. He had chewed and swallowed two pieces of a pacifier and he wouldn't have been able to pass it through his intestines. That cost us a fortune. Now the vet thinks he has something lodged in his nasal passage because he has difficulty breathing. She said they would flush his sinuses out when they put him out to neuter him.
They have such cute christmas outfits for the fur kids at 4 your fur kids and the price isn't bad.:cool:
