HI
I am a new Yorkie owner. I have had a Yorkie for 3 months now. My first pet EVER!!!
I LOVE him!!!! He is the perfect choice. I am just soooo happy we found him....
He is now 6 months old. I am trying to decide weather to have him fixed or find a nice lady friend to breed with?

Hello and welcome Charlieboy!! Hope you can post pics of your baby soon! I've had my baby boy since he was 9 weeks old. He is 10 months old on Jan 8th - how time flies! :animal36

I would get him fixed. Once you breed him, your lovely cuddly pet will turn into a "marking machine" stud dog. There are alot of things to think about before ever deciding to breed your dog.Is he a good representation of the breed, did he pass all of the health issues prone to Yorkies, etc. Just a thought.:)

Oh and unless you are a professional breeder - I'd vote to get him neutered. There are truely enough breeders around that we don't need more 'cute' but unwanted puppies. That's a very sad situation. Best wishes!

Charlie boy from Ontario has a new friend called Belle

We were so happy with Charlie that we got him a little girlfriend. Her name is Belle. I have her picture under Charlies pictures. She is 14 weeks old. She has a wiry ..shorter coat and will be 8 lbs + at maturity. Her face is more pointed and her ears larger and more pointed. I wonder if she is a different breed of Yorkie? Would anyone know?
The breeder said both parents were Yorkies.
I love Yorkies!

hey there i'm in brockville not too far from you i have a female yorkie i bred for the first time and what an experience..i'm 1500.00 in the hole i lost my female baby i wanted to keep and have to males so i'm keep samson and i have scooter for sale but ppl want to give me next to nothing for him and he's got excellent background..plus 2 set of shots already so if anybody is interested..hey keep in touch charlieboy since we're neighbours..sashazx75

how big will charlie get full grown do you know the stud should be smaller then the female..and if you keep him for a stud yes he probably will mark all over time for diapers for him lol..gl

1) This thread is a year old.
2) As you are a fairly inexperienced breeder yourself who did not have very good luck with your litter, it's probably not very wise to try to coach others on breeding. Especially considering that the information you are passing on is not entirely correct. The size of the male and female alone means very little. That alone does not make it "safe." The sizes of the OTHER dogs in their lines plays an important role as well, among many other things.

Passing inaccurate information like this is very dangerous! :thumbdown

i didn't notice the date and as for the size not 1 but 4 yorkie breeders who have been breeding for over 20yrs told me size does matter cause it could cause a c-section when the male is bigger producing bigger litters..and before i did any breeding i did a lot of research and talked to my vet..

Did I say that the size of the male was not important? No. I said that the size of the male ALONE is not enough to take into consideration. If 'not 1 but 4 Yorkie breeders' are telling you that it is, then 'not 1 but 4 Yorkie breeders' are also incorrect. I'm sure I could find 'not 1 but 4 Yorkie breeders', probably more, here on YT who would be more than happy to verify this for you. There are not 1 but hundreds of people who like to call themselves 'breeders' out there who claim there are "teacup" Yorkies...but that doesn't make it true.
You previous posts here on YT suggest otherwise about the amount of research you did before breeding. I still stand by what I said. As someone still relatively new to breeding, trying to advise others and not providing complete, accurate information is very dangerous.

I got lexi fixed (female) I heard it will prevent alot of health issues int he future...plus she wont be as hormonal and listen better. Id rather there NOT being male dogs following her when she's in heat.
It was weird because the other day I went to the doggy park and some male chiwawa tried to hump my baby =(
