Buying Yorkie stuff in Canada? I just got my Li'l Mac almost 3 weeks ago (he's such a ball of FUN!). Where do you all buy your Yorkie outfits up here (economically that is)? I'm getting a couple of items from Stormy in the US as she posted 106 items for sale at great prices. But I'm wondering if there's anything similar up here or in Ontario even? Where's a good place to get a harness for him. He's such a tiny guy at 11 weeks and under 3 pounds. :aimeeyork Thanks! |
I live in ontario too the doggie clothes is pretty expensive so I am going to the States this weekend and will see if the prices are better. |
Do you have a Petcetera near you? I got tiny harnesses for mine there. It was the only place I could find them. As for clothes, I am going to attempt to make my own but I'll keep an eye out for you and let you know. I know janelles on here sews but I don't know if she sells. You might want to look her up. |
I have really lucked out .. I have gone to petsmart and they have had their XS clothes on sale so I bought what I could that would fit Odie I have a lady friend here in London who is in the process in making him a rain coat and winter wear because anything that I have found is too big. it is hard to have such a small yorkie at times. |
Do you happen to have a store there called Liquidation World? I got a dozen or so shirts/sweaters for about $0.25 a piece! I saw a darling idea for a sock sweater on here (I think) a few months ago. Use an argyle sock (or any really) and cut it in half, cut 2 arm holes out and you're good to go. There may be more to it than that...I cant really remember, but you could google it. Good luck! Petcetera and PetSmart are probably your best bet. Unfortunately, most of the doggie clothing stores based out of canada seem to be 'boutiques' and are quite pricey (especially here in toronto!). Not sure where in Ontario you are located, but Rens Pets Depot in Oakville is good for pet supplies — not sure what they have for clothing though. Ren's Pets Depot Online Store Buddy belts are my favorite harness - both my dogs have them. They are pricey off the get go, but I'm convinced you will NEVER need another harness again. They are made of leather and come in lots of different colors now. Welcome to BUDDY BELT (A Division of Class Art Productions Inc.) if you want to check it out. Congrats on the new little one! |
Walmart.com has a lot of cute doggy things. Can you get them shipped there? |
Thanks for all the replies! There is no Petcetera in Barrie, ON but we do have a PetSmart - I just thought they would be way overpriced. I'll have to check them out. I'll also check whether walmart.com will ship to Canada - not sure about that either but that would be cool! I'll Google LiquidationWorld - never heard of that but I sure hope we have one nearby as it sounds great too. You're all so lucky to have such great stores near you! Thanks again for all the info! :animal-pa:animal-pa |
Buying Yorkie stuff in Canada I actually got for $3 each a few things at petsmart on the clearance rack. |
yes clothing for our fur babies is quite pricey here in Canada...I usually by online...I did just go to a flea market in Shipshewana Indiana yesterday and WOW...I bought lots...and cheap!!! dog clothes close out special I found this one through one of the threads.... |
buddy belts are fantastic. i've had the same one for sadie for 3 years now and it shows no signs of ripping or needing to be replaced! definitely worth the money! i got mine at bark n fitz but im sure they sell them at other pet stores too! |

There are always lots of good deals from other yt members if you watch the thread.. I am always seeing stuff for sale.. usually pretty good prices.. I buy also from yt members that make things to fit.. If you see people buying from target lots of times they will get extras or even go and pick things up for people.. target in the states always has great deals..what are you looking for.. anything specific ...anne |
Do you have a Target store up there? I hewre they have a lot of dog clothes as well and they too have a clearance section as well as you can order online for their stores.. Sandi |
2 Attachment(s) I love to dress Pao up but I have to admit I don't have the luxury on spending much on his clothes so I have to do it wisely. I bought his clothes online usually from US, from Walmart or when I go back to Malaysia. As for winter coats, I prefer to buy them from Canada eventhough it costs a little more because I want to be sure it does keep him warm, if not satisfied I can always return it. I also handsew some fleece pajamas for Pao. Although they don't neccesarily look as good as the ones people sell, I feel good coz I made it out of  for him. Now I have to attach some pics since I have mentioned it :D Sorry for the ugly thick thread that you see because I used thick twine thread. |
Alot of my clothes come from the second hand stores. I buy baby clothes! T-shirts, little skirts, and onsies all work great for the puppies. Coats and booties I buy at Petsmart usually on the sale rack. I refuse to pay more than $15.00 for coats. E-bay is also a great place for deals. |
These are all great ideas - thank you all so much. There is nothing special I'm searching for right now as I do have several items coming from a few YT members and am expecting them this week - can't wait! They will be the first clothes for my naky boy. Wow you made your own PJ's, Potter - way to go - they look great! Maybe someday I'll get the time to sew again. |
I got a few things at Zellers for my little girl. lol. Girlie clothes, but they have more stuff at Zellers now I've noticed. Clothing for little boys too. I just got a cute shirt and dress there for Tila. I can't put anything on her yet though, because she's still small and nothing fits her yet. It's hard to find clothes where I live too, wish I could get some PJ's for Tila. I also got some great Bows from Ebay from a seller in Ont. Not pricey at all and shipping was low. |
Wow - I never dreamed Zellers would have clothes for Yorkies. That's great, I'll check them out! Can you share the name of the eBay seller of those bows? My little boy is also too small to put clothes on yet, but I'm sure he'll grow a bit. He's only 2-1/2 pounds so far at a little over 13 weeks. PJ's would be great, hmmm? I'm still waiting for items from two YT'ers that I ordered a little over 3 weeks ago. Gotta love the mail system. :( Thanks for the tips, Roxy 87. |
Hi. :) I love shopping, and I love finding new stuff for my little girl and boy. Tila is 2lbs 4 ounces so far. Doing good. She's so peitite though. lol. I got some little tee's and little turtleneck from ebay and they were like such a small size and she doesn't fit them yet, another few weeks maybe. The seller is peek-a-pooch, I bought like 24 bows from her already, she's got different sizes, smaller ones and some a little bigger. They are sooo cute. She's got boy colors, girl colors, spring colors, etc..I'll keep an eye out and if I find anymore places or good sellers, i'll pass it on. |
I've bought a few things from The Pet Supply House - Canada's Most Complete and Reliable Source for Professional Dog Supplies.. Their based out of Guelph, if I remember correctly. |

Cute! Those little outfits are sooo cute! I wish I had the talent to make some myself! Instead, I've just picked up the odd thing here and there for Pixel when there's a sale at Petsmart or Wal-Mart. For example, I bought her a little pink and white sweater at the end of winter, and a cute little white and purple t-shirt dress when they were on sale at the end of the summer. Off-season buys are the best! :) |
