Southern Calfornia Yorkie meetup in Riverside county Hi all, I'm kind of new here, and in another thread, I saw that there are several people with yorkies in Southern California. I live in Eastvale, which is the new community off the 15 fwy at Limonite. Anyway, we recently opened a brand new dog park, and I thought it would be nice to break-it-in with a yorkie meetup. The dog park has a small dog side. So if anyone is interested, I'd like to set one up. I'd love to meet other yorkie owners. No frills, no contests or anything, just bring your yorkie (and any other small breed dog you may have). Anyway, how does Saturday, February 10 at 1:30 pm sound? Here's the info: What: Yorkie meet-up (other small breeds welcomed too) Where: at the Dog Park at Harada Heritage Park Corner of Cleveland Ave. and 65th St Corona, CA 92880 (the dog park is at the westernmost end of the park along 65th) Mapquest Link When: Saturday, February 10, 2006, at 1:30 pm All are welcome! There are picnic tables, so you can bring a lunch and make it a picnic if you like. I'll also post this in the Inland Empire Toy Breeds group at Dogster, and I'll put up flyers at the local Petsmart. Post in this thread if you can make it. Misty |
Nice that you have a new park! Too far for us though. Just wanted to mention that we are in a Yorkie meetup group in San Diego. At the website meetup.com you can search for a group by state, city etc. Or you can start your own Yorkie or toy breed meetup group. Have fun at your meetup. |
I'd love to go, but that's 195 miles from me.:( |
195 miles might be a tad far :) |
YAY! Bella and I would love to come. We'll probably be there. I seen that you posted this on dogster earlier. :D |
Lilo And Stich Will Be Sure To Be There Ty! |
Thanks for the Mapquest link, that helps alot! I'll put it in my mental calendar and see if we can't make it. That would be really fun as long as the weather's nice. :) Great idea! |
Oh good, I'm so excited. I was worried no one would be able to come. I had visions of me sitting all alone at the park with crickets chirping LOL! I'm looking forward to it! Let's hope it doesn't rain or the wind doesn't kick up again. (so sick of that wind!) |

awe! I want to come. But maybe next time. Buddah isnt allowed at the park yet. Still too little and needs one more set of shots. I will be there next time for sure! |
Awww. How old is Buddah? We just started letting Chloe go to the park a few weeks ago when she had had her 4th vax. She absolutely loves it! |

We should set something up in Orange County, maybe towards Spring time. Pic of baby Mango (she is held by the breeder while I snapped the shot): |
1 Attachment(s) What a pity - I just went to your MapQuest link and the park is only 20 miles from my home. I sure wish I could be there..... If I can get someone to babysit Mango, I will try and come with my Spanky, the senior Yorkie of the House: |
Can you bring Mango in a purse carrier? That way she could be kept off the grass... |
I love Spanky's tongue-y smile. You should submit that picture to Bark magazine. They have smiling dogs each issue! |

The video of Chloe and the Kibble is hysterical... she's too comical for words. I will ask the breeder about bringing Mango in a tiny doggie purse...... |

So far, it looks like there will be a small handful of us there. I just checked and it is supposed to be around 66*F that day, which sounds pretty good. |
Just a reminder. Tomorrow is the yorkie meetup! Anyone else wanna join us! |

Bummer!!! My breeder says that little Mango cannot mix with other dogs until she has had ALL her shots, at about 16 weeks. She only turned 11 weeks today. I hope the rain stays away for you guys.... wouldn't want the little furballs to become drowned rats....:animal36 |
Welp, even though earlier this week, the forecast for Saturday was 66 and partly cloudy, it has just recently been updated to a 50% chance of rain. If at 1:30, it isn't raining, I'll be at the park, and would still love to meet anyone who shows up, but I'd hate for anyone to drive out far with it that risky of a rain chance. If it gets rained out, we can do it another time. :) |
Scratch the previous weather update. The sun is coming out, blue skies are poking through, and the forecast has been updated to only a 20% chance of rain. AT this point, it does not look like it will rain. I will be at the park at 1:30, and I hope to see you all there! :) Misty and Chloe See first post for mapquest link and details. |
