Yorkie Vet in SF Bay Area Hi, long time reader, first time poster. I have a 4 year old yorkie, about 9 pounds and his collapsed trachea / wheezing is getting worse. Does anyone know of a good vet in San Francisco or the peninsula (we live in Pacifica) who specializes in Yorkies? Our local guy doesn't really know much about this, and he definitely needs *something*. Thanks! jim |
Poor baby. Let me ask around and see if anyone knows someone in your area. |
Ok, so this reference is from a friend of a friend: Veterinary Specialty Hospital & Board Certified Vet Specialists in San Francisco, CA | VCA San Francisco Veterinary Specialists . They had a dog that had a lot of health issues and their vet would send them to this vet. I'm not familiar with VCA hospitals, but it worked for them. Good luck! |
Thanks!!! We are taking him there Thursday. Will let you all know what happens! jim |
I would take your pet to UC Davis small animal clinic, you can call them or an emergency visit. I took my yorkie there with AAI which was cause by theSPCA in San Francisco. Good luck! Princess Chloe's Mom |
Thanks Chloe's Mom We went to a new vet and they recommended Davis too. Plus put the pup on some new meds including Hound Honey, Tussigon, Clinda Cure and fish oil. Seems to be making a difference.. But he still needs more, poor little guy. More as we find it out! jim |
I'm glad to hear that at least been given something. This coming monday I'm taking my yorkie to UC Davis for a dermatology appointment. I highly recommend them here's their telephone number 1-530-752-1393. You can call small animal clinic and you'll be given a listing of all the dept.and services. Their prices are very reasonable. Good luck! Naomi- Princess Chloe's Mami :animal36 |
