It's mostly dirt. If there is a mostly grassy one in the south bay, somebody lead me to it! Spikes coat is super easy to keep clean, though so I don't mind the dirt.

That's why I like going on Saturday to meetups. Let the babies get nice and dirty and then it's time for the weekly bath. Kaji's usually too tired to give me he sad eyes during his bath when he's tired. :p

:( Buster will be so sad no to be able to go! We are leaving for vacation on the 7th. Hopefully this will be so successful there will be more meet ups in the future! :)

Has it changed? It was always mostly grass when we've been there. I don't like the dirt or the chip dog parks that's why I like this one because it's mostly grass.

I've never been there before, but say pictures and picked it because it's mostly grass. Here's Lake Hollywood Park - Hollywood - Los Angeles, CA pictures for those who has never been there before. It has good reviews too! :D

I love the photo of the dogs lounging in the long grass Buster would love that, of course he might disappear it it LOL

I'm confused, is it or isn't it a dog park? The first review says it isn't.

I found it on this site under "dog parks". I'm guessing that it's not a dog park where there's a big and small dog section, but just a huge grassy field for dogs to play in...I personally have never been there...found the great reviews on yelp and saw it listed under dog parks. Ronda has been there, maybe she can tell us? ;)

Not that I'm a saint or anything, I just want to avoid a ticket. We almost got caught at Elysian park not long ago. We ran into animal control giving tickets go 4 people with big dogs. I scooped Kaji up and walked right by them, they didn't even notice I had no leash. :p

Lola is like wrestling an wrestling to me. My husband does the bath w/her. Now, the nails, oh my, that's a whole other story. :eek:

Thanks for the link to the pix. Do they have a separate area for small dogs?

Is this a fenced dog park where the dogs can be off-leash and safe? Didn't look like it from the reviews. Spike is still a puppy and I wouldn't want that 'enthusiasm' to put him in any danger.

Oops, me too!

I'm bummed but going to have to reverse my RSVP. Maybe when Spike is older. For now, we need the big/little dog sections and fencing while he is learning his manners and socialization skills.

Aww! Maybe next time then! I wish I have been to this dog park to tell you. Next time, we will for sure go to one with the sectioning! ;)

Ok so Buster and I checked out the park. It is in a BEAUTIFUL location just underneath the Hollywood sign tucked in the Hollywood Hills by the reservoir. It is 95% grass and mostly green. It is not a off leash park but there are dogs running around off leash. There is no separate big dog/small dog areas and it is not fenced in. Buster had a lovely time hanging out in the shady areas as it is an open field surrounded by trees so there are shady areas and picnic tables. There were a lot of big and small dogs hanging out there but everyone and their dogs were very friendly. There is a water fountain and the view is spectacular!!! I will definitely be going back because it is so close to home. There is a grassy shaded dog park in Encino that has seperate areas. I have driven by but not stopped.

Thanks for letting us know!! I just read about it and saw the raving reviews. So excited to check it out during the meetup!! We will be going to the Sepulveda in Encino today!! I will let everyone know how that goes ;) Of course, with pictures :D
