Need help from a Vet or Pet Expert Please!!!
 
Im looking to buy a [COLOR=green ! important][COLOR=green ! important]puppy[/COLOR][/COLOR] as a family dog/companion. I love the look of yorkies and morkies. The only puppies I can afford are from breeders that are BYB. They cost around 600. They truly love and care for their dogs and I have made sure the puppies are raised correctly and are up to date on shots. My question/dilemna is,

If I buy a morkie or yorkie from someone that isnt AKC registered like from a BYB what are the chances my puppy will be unhealthy. All the breeders I have talked to make it sound like my puppy will have all kinds of problems, but if you look at the many people with mutt dogs, they are perfectly healthy. Are morkies going to be more healthy than yorkies?

Please help any advice is appreciated

Most Yorkie breeders do not want to produce mixed breed dogs. I would venture that health issues depend on the dogs.

There are Yorkies in your price range, if you want a Yorkie. If you send me an email to dee@houseofwags.com I can send you to a few Yorkie folks that are affordable.

Thanks for all the help. I actually think we are changing our minds on the breed we want. I think that a papillon is more suited for us. Does anyone know about papillons or have experience owning one? They seem a little more laid back then yorkies, not in energy but in aggression and wanting to play a dominant role in the family. I have read a lot and they seem a lot alike accept that yorkies tend to not be as friendly around strangers and other animals, and since we will be living in an apartment complex with a lot of other dog owners, it is better to have a dog that is less likely to be aggressive towards other dogs and owners. Any imput from anyone is appreciated. Thanks

we live in an apartment complex and out building is the DOG building so lots of dogs around. There are more Yorkies here than any other breed by far. There isn't one yippy, weird aggressive one in the mix and there's at least 15 Yorkies. It's a fairly high end place.
bottom line, Yorkies are awesome dogs. Smart, friendly, no shedding, great for a small apartment in the city.We have 2 and 3 pups to sell. I hope you go with a Yorkie, you won't regret it.
