PLEASE HELP find Spice!! My cousins Yorkie lost in California! 3 Attachment(s) Calling all people who live in or around the MONTECITO/SANTA BARBARA CALIFORNIA AREA... my cousins Yorkie Spice has gone missing in Montecito California as of Thursday May 1st. She and her husband and their 4 children are all beside themselves. They have had Spice for many years (he is 9 years old) and he is/was apart of their family  She let him outside in the backyard to go potty and when she went out to get him, he was gone - nowhere to be seen. Her backyard overlooks the golf course and she and her hubby and kids all went over to the golf course and looked EVERYWHERE for him and couldn't find him. They drove around everywhere....couldn't find him  They are in hysterics. The bad part is, they had a vacation planned to Mexico and it was already paid for, so they had to leave yesterday. They DID NOT want to go. She called crying from Mexico and none of them even want to be there. They all just want to go home. They want to find their baby  Their maid that lives in part of their house is still there and she will be waiting by the phone to see if anyone calls about him. They printed out flyers with his pictures and put them out everywhere. They even gave some to the UPS man (who Spice always loved to bark at :() so that he could put them up all over town as well. And of course they put an ad in the paper. They called the shelters there and no one has him. Here is the information: Spice is a 9 year old neutered male Yorkie that is Silver in color with a Tan head. He weighs around 5 lbs, maybe a little more. Spice DOES NOT like men so it is unlikely that a man took him (if someone taking him is what happened). He also answers to "Foofer" which is a nickname they had for him. He went missing on Thursday May 1st in the Montecito, California area. There are a few pictures of Spice below. If you live in the Montecito or Santa Barbara, CA area, PLEASE keep your eyes and ears peeled for Spice. They DESPERATELY want to bring him home! If anyone happens to see him, or knows someone that has, PLEASE PM me RIGHT AWAY and I will get the information sent over to my cousin and her maid since she is at their home waiting for any information one might have. I understand that this might be a long shot, but I promised them that I would post about it anyway as I know that there are many here that are in California. Here are three pictures of Spice. The first one was just taken about a week before he went missing. It was taken right after he was groomed so this is his most current picture and is what he would look like right now, unless someone that got him just totally shaved all his hair off. The other two pictures are pictures that are a little older, and he wasn't groomed in them but this is NOT what his hair would look like right now. P.S. - Excuse the picture of him in girly clothes...the kids put him in pink. PLEASE.....HELP BRING HIM HOME!!! |
I am not in CA but I wanted to bump this up |

They should put his picture in every Vet. and grooming place in and around the area. I'd also have them call the local TV station and see if they wouldn't run his picture too. I sure hope this little man is found really soon. The weather up and down the coast here has been awfully cold at night. |
Praying Spice is found soon. |
Oh Brooke... I'm going to pray for Spice to come home safe. I'm in the wrong part of Ca... How long are they in Mexico for? I hope some information comes up soon! |
I am not in the area,. but sending prayers that spice is found and returned to this loving family that misses their furbutt so much....anne |
My thoughts and prayers for Spice to be found safe and sound...and soon. Plaster those posters everywhere!!! Vets, groomers, public buildings, stores...everywhere there is a pole or bulletin board. Keeping my fingers crossed...poor little guy must be terrified. |
Praying that he's found! |
Praying for Spice and his Family.. |
Add my prayers for little Spice. How awful to have to go on a "vacation". Ugh. Praying that by the time they're home, Spice will be home too. |
I pray you find Spice. I will keep my eyes and ears open! |
Thank you all SO MUCH for your prayers!! Keep them coming...they are desperately needed! Spice has still not been found  I just wanted to bump this up since today is Monday and I thought that more people would probably see it today than on the weekend. Thank you all again and please keep praying that Spice is found and brought back home safely! :hands: |
anything on spice yet? |
Waiting, wondering...and most of all praying. |
bump.........prayers your way....any word? |
Thank you all so much for your care, concern, thoughts and prayers. I wanted to wait until my cousin arrived back home from their vacation in Mexico before I did an update, just in case Spice was home when they arrived.....but he wasn't  They can't find him anywhere and there hasn't been a single call on him....not one  We are kind of beginning to think that he may have been taken by a Coyote - they are really bad in California  The thought of it alone is just heartwrenching, but it could very well be a possibility :( Their hearts are breaking and so are the kids. I am in contact with a YT member about a Yorkie that he is needing to re-home due to him moving to a place that will not accept animals, so my cousin may be getting this baby. Everyone please keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer that everything with this little sweetie works out! Thank you all again for all of your thoughts and prayers - and Spice, wherever you are, you are greatly missed sweet boy  |
I am really sorry that Spice is still missing. I really hope they find Spice but if not, hope your cousin can adapt new baby who needs home.... |

They will never ever stop missing or loving Spice, but hopefully a new baby will help "heal" them a little, and the kids as well  |
Sad to hear Spice is still missing...I am so very sorry. |
Was checking hoping for good news. I'm so sorry. I just pray that wherever he is, he is warm and safe..... wherever thay may be. |
I am also praying for the safe return of Spice....my heart is broken for you all. I can't imagine. Hopefully someone will come forward with some kind of news!? I admit the first thing I thought of when reading your post was the Coyotes....as much as I hate to think of anything like that. But they are such a problem in California. My family lives in Southern California and they all have small dogs and yorkies. The vets warn them all the time to never leave the dog unattended not even for one second alone in the yard because the coyotes are in the neigborhoods. One story was about my Aunts neighbor who had her dog on the end of it's leash for a walk, but the lady stopped to get her mail from her mailbox and as she was reading her mail she felt a little tug on the leash, and after a few minutes she looked over at her Bishon and it was gone...and running down the street was the coyote with her dog. It's really something for us all to think about no matter where we live because predator animals are all over and are getting so brazen. Another story I just saw on the news was about the rising issue of dog theft. They said that if someone approaches you and starts asking alot of questions about your dog, like how much is it?, what's it's name?, what town are you from etc. to be very wary. These are the things a would be dog-napper asks and will follow you home or just snatch the dog, especially the dogs that can sell for big money like yorkies, malteses, caviliers etc. It's unbelievable! Anyway...please keep us posted on any updates and sending lots of prayers and good thoughts!! ~hugs~ |
Thats so sad, prayers going out to spice's family. |
