Has anyone heard of Hi, Puppies! in Koreatown? Hello I have been looking for a yorkie for a while now, and stumbled upon this place after seeing two adorable pups at a shopping centre and they were both purchased from a woman who works here named Sunny. The owner is Sunny, and she claims that her puppies are bred by her father in Palmdale. Has anyone heard of this woman or her store? |

I have always ran into their ads. Honestly, I wouldn't want to buy from them. They seem suspicious... almost like a puppymill. |
i've run across their ads as well, i wouldn't do it, you can always find reputable breeders! and especially find some on here!! good luck on your search! |
Don't buy puppies from pet stores in Korea town or China town. Bad idea. |

I wouldn't buy a puppy from them. You'd be better off searching our forums for dogs for sale or rehoming. |
Purchased and very satisfied! Hello, In response to your question about Hi Puppies, I purchased a toy yorkie, baby girl, at the age of 1 month old. 5 months later, my yorkie, Karli is her name, is very very healthy, not any problems what so ever, she has papers as well. I don't think the location(Korea town) has anything to do with getting a bad deal. So please do not be mislead. Sunny is very nice, very informative and was very helpful. And yes she is a breeder as well. In fact my mom fell head over hills with Karli, Im going back to her to purchase a puppie for my mom. The only major problem that i have with my Yorkie, is that I spoil her to death. :) Very repetable place:thumbup:, everytime we step out side, im referring someone to Hi Puppies! Hope this helps!:animal36 |

Iam glad that things worked out for u and your dear sweet , baby. However , I really do feel that you got lucky . :aimeeyork |
Not luck at all...... in reply, to MsCat, how do you figure she was to young at the time of purchase? Have you ever purchased form Hi puppies or had any dealings with them? And lastly, are you a breeder by any chance? I truly don't think that luck had anything to do with it. In fact I had a professional dog trainer and breeder actually go with me at the time of purchase. HI puppies is definitely a place I would repurchase, or recommend to anyone! However each is to its own, bottom line you have to do what makes you feel comfortable..... :) |

Any reputable breeder or dog trainer would most likely never gone to a puppy store with anyone to buy a puppy. The reputable, educated trainers and breeders would know about pet stores, where their puppies come from and would never recommend someone buy from a pet store. If you got a healthy puppy from this place you DID get lucky. But that's not even the point, buying from a pet store, you've now condemned the mother to more time in puppy producing hell! |

There are so many Puppy Mills and Backyard Breeders in and around the Palmdale/Lancaster area. Be careful. Molly's Mom purchased her pup from one such place. The pup was 8 weeks of age and almost from the day the pup was brought home it has been at the vet's for one thing or another; Hyperglycemia, Coccidia, Mange.....you name it's been treated. 5 weeks of age, oh dear. These pups should just have begun their weaning process. No shots and in a pet store, what is this woman thinking.....No pup should be in a public environment until they've completed their series of innoculations, 16 weeks of age. No yorkie pup should leave a breeders home until they are a minimum of 12 weeks of age. So, much training done by their mother from the age of 8 weeks to 12 weeks. By the way the state of California has stringent Pet Selling Lemon Laws. And selling a pup at this young age is illegal...... |
Hey Guys! I don't know if anyone noticed, but this thread began in 2007. Do you find it kind of strange that it was resurrected by a newbie that came on in defense of the breeder. |

And that if you google "hi puppies" the second result is this thread. |
If I remember correctly, World Kennel & these Korean people are the same people, I think... David Goldstein Exposes Puppy Mills - cbs2.com DON'T BUY FROM PET STORES, they all come from PUPPY MILLS |
Honestly, I think it's odd when someone resurrects an old thread. Anyway, a quick google search shows Quote:
It really is a dirty business. All the heartache that can be caused for selling pups to young which makes them susceptible to disease, and behavioral problems that can cause heartache for new puppy owners. But, seeing as how Hi Puppies is a pet store, maybe this information would hurt them more. There is a $250 fine for violation, or 30 days in jail for the state of California. So it they sold 10 dogs at 4 weeks old, that would be a $2500 fine, or 300 days in jail, and if the pup's parents get good lawyers, they could probably sue Hi Puppies for selling an under aged sick dog and recover some of their very expensive vet bills. I would seriously reconsider being in the "pet shop" business. I would run a boutique or daycare instead. So many people buy cute clothes and accessories for their pups and you can't break the law that way! |

Last Chance for Animals Sadly, there's several puppy mills in Lancaster/Palmdale areas. Pure greed, DON"T SHOP...or you're supporting these despicable people. Some were surrendered to Strangest Angels http://strangestangels.org/?m=200805 It looks like the ones given up were sick or in need of medical attention. Alot of the Yorkies they use for breeding were not given up but probably divided amongst their families & friends. The Hi puppy shop owner's name is Sunny, the aunt or cousin or sister, whatever, a relative of the 'Kelly' girl in World Kennel. |
1 Attachment(s) i just went the website you posted...and in this picture...are those pigs? were they breeding pigs alsp? |
Rotflmboooooo! Hahaa, dunno why there's piggies, they look like ceramic figurines. I think it's just the yard decoration. |
