Wonderful Breeder in NM that ships 2 Attachment(s) I found a wonderful breeder in New Mexico. We got our 1st little boy from her. Her name is, Reta Elliott. Her & her husband Mike raise the most beautiful Yorkies I have ever seen. She is wonderful on the phone, & returns all calls concerning your Yorkie promptly. Your Yorkie is shipped in a very nice crate with a lambs wool bed, (I got a blue bed for my little boy) Along with all papers & pedigrees. I can't say enough about this woman & how pleased I am with her. She is listed under Firebrand Yorkies. Here is a picture of my little guy. |
Congratulations on your new puppy. I think that is where Amber and another YT member got their yorkies from within the last month and they are adorable. You might want to email Amber and ask her about the new puppy she bought from them. |

I think Reta and Mike are awesome breeders as well. My sister has 2, 5 year old yorkies that she bought from them. You can't go wrong with a firebrand yorkie!! |
I got Remy from Firebrand almost 3 weeks ago. I cannot be happier with both my puppy and the process of getting him shipped to me. Everything was arranged with utmost care. Remy is healthy and thriving. At 12 weeks old, he weighed in at 2 lb 06 oz. He has a great personality and is just gorgeous! Reta answered all my emails very promptly and gave great advice about our new addition. I would definitely recommend Firebrand. |
I am confused. I found Firebrand Yorkies online this one is in Wisconsin and the owner is Diane. She has some beautiful black and gold breeders |
She may have moved I found this website for her Quality Yorkshire Terrier Breeder in WI - Firebrand Yorkies The thread you are looking at is an older one. I am not sure if this is the right breeder they are discussing though as this one breeds under 5lbs. Maybe someone who has posted who has her puppies will see this and let you know. |
I think there are many breeders that use Firebrand. At least there used to be. A lot has happened in 6 years. |

I did a search on Reta Elliott and got that same website, but the only mention of her name was saying she owned one of the breeding females in Tx. Most of the entries on that website are old. The only recent one looked like they were sending a replacement pup for one that died. You might have better luck looking up Reta Elliott in Tx and maybe dealing with her instead of through that website. |
Your little one is adorable! |
Firebrand Yorkies Hello everyone! Apologies for all the confusion here. Firebrand Yorkies was formerly owned and operated by Reta and Mike Elliot in New Mexico. Diane & Jerry Schelach, the current owner/operators of Firebrand Yorkies are former customers of the Elliot's. When the Elliot's considered retirement and shutting down the business they just couldn't bear to end this wonderful line of high quality Yorkies. They offered the Schelach's the business and would have it no other way. They trusted that they would upkeep the beautiful traits of their puppies to the highest standards. And we do! :yorkieboy: :aimeeyork Firebrand Yorkies |

Thank you for your question. Each of our puppies receives a wellness check with our veterinarian just before leaving for their new homes. Our contract states that the buyer have the puppy looked at as well by two veterinarians, if a problem such as a congenital issue is found the puppy must be returned to Firebrand Yorkies. If the puppy is not returned within seven [7] days the contract is void. If the puppy does not make it past two [2] years (more generous than the website currently states) because of a congenital issue and it is proven with an autopsy and vet report, the puppy will be replaced. We can not guarantee that the puppy have any non-life threatening issues. We also cannot stand behind improper care from the buyer after receiving the puppy. I hope this helps! |

and then you say If the puppy does not make it past two [2] years (more generous than the website currently states) because of a congenital issue and it is proven with an autopsy and vet report, the puppy will be replaced. You know that there is no way that most congenital defects do not show up in the first week of ownership and usually if they do it is something that the breeder should have been or has been aware of. So is it seven day (7) or two (2) years for a congenital issue? If it is two years then why is she not honoring the contract in the other post (the one you posted in defending your friend and that I linked too? ) considering they did do an autopsy and did contact her trying to resolve this amicably. I understand there are both sides but in order to see both sides we need to understand the breeders point of view. I understand you defending your friend and business associate. To you she is a good friend and a good person who is going through difficult times but no matter what is going on in your life if you want to maintain a good reputation in business or in life you need to honor you contracts and try to resolve issues honorably. I hope things can work out for everyone. As far as my experiences with "Wellness Check" I purchased a Yorkie that came with a wellness check....my dog had kennel cough, giardia, and cocidia but was given a perfect bill of health on his wellness check so I don't hold much faith in wellness checks. Luckily California has puppy lemon laws and once I contacted a lawyer the issue was resolved but I was given a run around before I contacted the lawyer. |

Thank you very much for understanding that there are two sides and we should all wait for both sides to speak before casting judgement or making decisions. I am trying to remain neutral as this is a sensitive issue and deserves the appropriate treatment. |

What you said was posted by Jennifer, but under your account: Quote:
Each of "our" puppies .... "our" contract states .... "we" cannot guarantee. All of her postings are in first person as if she is intimately part of the operation. If she is indeed not part of the operation, wouldn't it be more accurate to state "their" puppies, "their" contract, or "their" guarantee? It's not just this post. She words her posts in this fashion (in first person instead of third) in every post that she has made. She also seems to know so many details -- contract clauses, number of puppies and breedings, etc, for someone that is supposedly in another country and merely handling social media. And then she posts using two different accounts, one under your name and another under hers? Color me confused, I have no idea when a post is made from one of your two accounts who is actually doing the keyboarding, or even if you really are two different people. |
Personaly I would not recommend firebrand yorkies. They breed a 3 pound female and there website says they breed for tinies both this a reputable breeder does not do. A friend of the owner also said they get there puppies they sell from other people pretty much like a broker. |

I just got done reading a thread concerning the WI Firebrand breeder. DO NOT BUY FROM THAT ONE. There is a thread under general yorkshire discussion labeled "read and decide for yourself" that tells a sad story about her line of pups. Just FYI |
Ha! I am on the late train...I hate that they breed "tiny". Because i actually got excited that there was a decent breeder here in NM... but alas... they breed money. |
