Help with buying a puppy on line I'm trying to find my first puppy and I came across this site: Puppies For Sale which has a particular puppy pictured which I would like to buy. But I'm brand new to this sort of transaction. The seller wants $500 for the pup, which seems like a very good price. But the transaction must be made through Western Union. Is this a common way to buy Yorkies on-line? Do you know if this is a legitimate dealer? Any help will be appreciated. I'm brand new to this forum and am trying to find my way. |

You may have to travel a bit to find one. I was living in New Mexico when I bought Max, and I looked EVERYWHERE. I finally found a breeder who had been breeding yorkies for 20 years, and just happened to have one puppy. She says she won't be having any more litters though. Too many of the online ads are just scams. I would find a place that you can visit. |
I personally would want to see a dog first before I purchased one. |
Oh no, stay away from on line trash. Either puppy mills or like the other post. No puppies. Western Union, yeah, right! You will never get the so called pup or ever see your money again. |
You have to be really careful when purchasing a puppy online. I don't know how difficult it would be to find a reputable breeder in your area, but I would try to find someone with in driving distance so you could go see the puppy for yourself before making a decision. I have used the internet to locate a breeder myself for standard poodles, but as far as the transaction is concerned, I paid in person. And I built a relationship with the breeder I chose through corresponding with her months before my puppy was even born and even after I got my puppy. It will take some research on your part to determine if this is a wise choice. I know its easy to fall in love with puppies you see online, but if your not careful it could all end in heartbreak. |
Yes, avoid online puppies. You have no idea what the parents are like and no way to interact with the breeder (whom you will probably never meet). I am in touch with my breeder on a regular basis, even after 7 years of purchasing my dog. You want to spend years with this little thing and you need to avoid a situation that could break your heart. |
