Exquisite yorkies Still looking for a puppy from a good breeder. Has anyone gotten a puppy from Exquisite Yorkies in Mission,Tx. or know of the quality of dogs they have. Thanks Jacquie |
This is a good place to start...they have a Breeder Referral section. The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America |

breeder Thanks for the information. I had two girls and I got each from a breeder member to the YTCA so thought that would mean quality healthy babies. My first baby girl ending up having to have surgery on both legs at 11 months old, stage 4 luxating patellas, liver shunt followed with age, thyroid problem, heart murmur, pancreas not producing enzymes, sbs, finally lost her to kidney failure at age 12. She had a long life of serious health problems and tons of pills and shots and vet visits and hated putting her through all that. My second girl didn't have a liver problem and legs seemed good so thought I made a good choice with her. Then at 1 yr. found out she had collapsing trachea and that was why she would cough after play etc. Surgery #1,they put rings around the upper part of her trachea,3 yrs. later another surgery to put rings around the lower part of her trachea. Next yr knee surgery,6 months later the other knee. Then last year starting with the breathing problem to the passing out point, specialist said scar tissue from prior surgeries has built up and cutting off her air, needed surgery to try and open it up. It was before Xmas and the surgeon was off until Jan.4th which she had the appointment. Dec 21th she quit breathing and we couldn't get her to breath that time. She would of been 7. Because of my girls health problems, that's why I was asking members here for breeders that they got a healthy quality puppy Happily I took someones advise here and contacted Deb, Amazing Yorkies and was so pleased with her concern for her babies health and well being. Hopefully she has a little girl for me in the near future. Thank You Jacquie |
Thanks for sharing your heartbreaking experience. how frustrating trying to do the right things and still have these issues. I'm sorry for losses. We are currently getting a wonderful sassy puppy in about a month and the breeder is YTCA but that's not why we chose her. We chose her because of her long history, her solid reputation - I couldn't find a single complaint, the fact that many other breeders have her dogs in their lines, and that she has over a year guarantee for genetic related issues, and she will either refund money, or replace the dog. She says it is very rare but it can happen. She doesn't let her dogs go until 12 weeks, she keeps them in a home environment, and she clearly loves the breed. It's been a long process so I wish you luck. YTCA doesn't mean as much to me personally as I've seen a few people on YTCA that are clearly not what I would want in a breeder. It's a good reminder that we need to take everything with a grain of salt, look at the whole picture, listen to your gut, do as much research as you can. I've heard nothing but good things about Amazing Yorkies on here - and I know she has a good guarantee. |
