OK? Anyone heard of FamilyYorkies? They seem ok, but I'm not sure so I figured come and ask here. Any red flags I may have missed? Here is the website: Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale |
I would never ask a pet owner to return the puppy in order to get their money back...take the money back with my sincerest apology that a health problem cropped up...I would do all in the future to prevent a reoccurance....but if you did not want the puppy for any reason, you may have the money back or another puppy..keep your puppy and cost is returned..your call... Think about it...if you had your Yorkie for a few months, it becomes a family member..then develops a problem..would you want to return it? Believe me, if it is going to run the breeder a great deal of money to fix the problem, the pup will most likely be put down...these breeders are counting on you not wanting to part with your family member...and they are home free...money in pocket, you have the vet bills... |

Thank you soo much for your input and for being honest |
I've actually watched this particular breeder for awhile. They advertise frequently in the AJC using the exact same pictures ( going on 18 months now) though when you ask they always say the pictures are of their current litter ( i considered them when i first started looking). When you google the phone number, they also come up as being Maltese breeders, too. Their guarantee is full of holes. You want to look for one that covers more than just life threatening congenital disorders. Their are lots of other very expensive things that can be wrong with a pup. Georgia is not one of those states that has a puppy lemon law, so basically the breeders can get away with cruddy guarantees such as this. I noticed you are in Florida. Are you aware of the lemon law in your state? Please don't short change yourself when it comes to making sure you have a breeder that will stand behind the health of their dogs. Good luck in your search. |

I was not aware of the Florida lemon laws. But I looked them up and they are great. It's just hard to find good breeders that are close, most are over an 8 hour drive and that's just going one way. |
