MistiBlue Yorkies 1 Attachment(s) Hello, Does anyone know or have any experience with MistiBlue Yorkies? I think they are in Rochester NY. I already have 2 boys and 1 older maltese boy. I am thinking :D of possibly getting a female Yorkie but not in a hurry at all. Just doing my homework and research. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Attachment 340942 |

Hi, I got my Lulu from Mistibleu Yorkies in Rochester, NY (I live in Buffalo, NY). I would highly recommend Kim Balas, breeder. She has beautiful yorkies. I don't think you will be disappointed if you choose her. If you have any questions, I can help with, please feel free to PM me. PS. I LOVE the picture of your yorkies! The little guy on the right has the most adorable face. |
Dont know anything about the breeder you are researching but have to say your dogs are adorable. And I agree, Pastyme Yorkies are beautiful, love going to the shows and watching them. |

If you're in California I would stick with a breeder that you can go visit. Buy your breeder first, then your pup....... |

Buyers beware about Mistibleu Yorkies Buyers beware: I went on this website (Yorkietalk) and I found out about Mistibleu Yorkies after reading some reviews. I did end up getting a yorkie from Kim, but found out afterwards that he has a hereditary disease and needed surgery. I spent a lot of money on surgery as well as the numerous vet visits. I just want to let everyone else know my experience because I don't want anyone to go through what I did. |
That is too bad about your dog. Lulu is 6 years old and (*knock on wood*) she has only needed her teeth cleaned once. She has very mild luxating patella. I keep in contact with Kim and several other people who got dogs from her and they are all very happy and satisfied. |
My yorkie has some tartar build up when I got him at 8 months old when my vet first checked him out, he is 2 years old now, but hopefully it doesn’t get bad. He does have very dry skin and allergies, which I’m not sure if you have the same problem. He also has a luxating patella in one leg and he was diagnosed with Necrosis of the Femoral Head aka Legg Calve Perthes Disease (hereditary disease) on the other leg. I noticed him not favoring the one side when I first got him, but didn’t know what was really wrong until I got x-rays taken. It is very costly and some people might not realize they have the same problem or might not even be willing to do it. I’m just glad he is much better now and yes he is adorable, but people shouldn’t have to spend so much money on a new dog once we first get them if the breeder is reputable. |

When you bought the dog, you signed a contract, so I am sure that you read the contract and what was and wasn't covered on it??? Also, if you noticed that the dog wasn't walking right when you first got him, why didn't you immediately call Kim? I certainly would have been on the phone about something that serious. (Jeesh, I was on the phone with Kim when the dog freakin pooped at the "wrong" time) I am also curious as to when you actually took the dog to a vet after you noticed he wasn't walking right. Again, if it was my dog, he would be at the vet right away. As far as dry skin and allergies, Yorkies are very prone to those kinds of things. I don't see how you can blame a breeder for that. Yorkie's are also notorious for teeth problems. I am quite sure that breeders are not going to brush every dog's teeth that they have. My dog's skin was very dry during the winter months. It is getting better now. I give her 1/4 teaspoon of salmon oil in her food once a day and it seems to have really helped her. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with your dog, but I feel like I have to respond and defend Kim Balas because she has been absolutely wonderful to me and my dog is an amazing, sweet, beautiful dog, and I know that I can call Kim at any time of the day or night if I have a problem and she will do her utmost to help me resolve it. |
In reading this thread, I think the best I can do is just to say, please find a local reputable breeder or one you can easily travel to and the breeder can easily get the dog back if something goes wrong. A reputable breeder will want to interview you, want to answer any questions you have and provide all the information he/she can think of AND meet the whole family where the dog is going to. You want to see how the dogs are kept, whether or not the breeder has the mother there, not all own the sire because they have done the breeding with someone else's stud dog always championed. |
We purchased our first yorkie, Mimi, from Kim.... Fantastic breeder and beautiful dogs! We're now waiting to purchase our next little girl from Kim. We may even take the little brother:) Our vet says that Mimi is one of the healthiest yorkies he's ever seen. |
I bought two Japanese Chins from the same breeder. The first has luxating patellas (both back legs) and we think doesn't see well. We are so glad WE got her and not someone else who would not be taking proper care of her. We bought a second puppy from her but were careful in checking him out his legs. So far (he is almost 11 months old), he is OK. One dog with a health problem doesn't make a bad breeder. MULTIPLE dogs does. The breeder we got our Biewer from has a Chihuahua for sale now that is "special needs". One of the front feet is deformed but the dog is OK other than walking with a limp. Unfortunately, those things happen (BTW, I am thrilled she is placing the puppy at a reduced price into a pet home....she will find the right home for her I am sure). Louise |
