As for the breeder: Yes a clean home should always be a given however, the op did not visit the breeders home as the meet was half way. As for the ethics of a breeder, those one are born with, ethical breeders know the danger of breeding bitches under 5lbs. One does not have to know a breeder personally to form ones opinion of said breeder, due to the information a breeder has on their website. An informed consumer should know the red flags to look for. {Thus being why many yter's have pointed them out} I do not know the said breeder personally however, any breeder should not be breeding bitches under 5lbs healthy or not. Too much risk! The size of the male has no impact, it is the lines that determine the size of puppies, not just the male. JMO- But if a breeder has a website where puppies are for sale, the health guarantee should be on the website so potential families are able to read and know exactly what is covered prior to purchase. Health testing of what is preformed should also be placed on website as well. I wish the op continue success with Bailey!:) |
Open Invitation JoAnn, As I said before I am not hiding anything that is why their weights are listed. Daisy & Zoey have had pups free whelped and never ever had any issues and has never ever had an unhealthy pup or one that has been unhealthy as an adult. My fault for missing putting Maisy's weight on my site, she is 5.5lbs. Please understand that not everyone goes by YOUR standards, I have my bitches checked completely by a vet when they are of age to breed to get their professional opinion if they feel like everything looks like they will be a good breeder. If they question their size, either weight or bone structure, then I have placed them in a pet home after being spayed. I trust their judgment and they have not steered me wrong yet. I am a reputable breeder and for you to place a WARNING without ever knowing me, talking to me, seeing my dogs or my practices is wrong. I don't judge you or what you do, and you have no right to judge me. I would appreciate it if you would retract or delete your statement from that thread and before you post something that would be considered derogatory toward someone, that you would take the time to talk with them. My reputation means more to me than my feelings do, and you casted my reputation in a bad light. It looks like you rescue dogs and that's great and admirable and I am glad you are an animal advocate, that is why I have invited you to call me or my vet or come visit so you can see for yourself before making a statement that can hurt someones reputation. Nikki was offered to come to my home as is anyone who buys from me or is even remotely interested in my dogs or just wants to come for a visit, they can see every single inch of where I raise my dogs, I have ZERO to hide. Thank you Jill Brooks |
Not this one... I don't believe I have EVER stated to ANYONE to watch out for breeders who breed a bitch under 5lbs. I have only stated to ask to see the parents and the place they were raised, and to get the registration papers and a health guarantee. Which I offer to EVERYONE to come to my house if they want to. I don't believe in posting negatively about a person if I have not spoken with them or emailed with them directly before doing so. Quote:

Oh and Thank you Nikki!! Thank you Nikki for your kind words and for trying to let people know that you had a good experience with me and with Bailey. That is the most important thing that I am concerned with. |
One last thing... My website is very simple and has a limited number of pages, I am not real computer savvy in that field. I got the least expensive site I could get, so that I can keep my costs down, so my puppies can be a reasonable price. I can email my health guarantee to anyone who is interested. I do not have another "page" on my site to add it. I thought more people would be interested in seeing pics, and then if they are interested in my dogs, I am more than happy to email them the health guarantee. I am an honest, good, reputable breeder and yes I have in issue with someone who doesn't know anything about me to suggest otherwise. Jill |
Jill, I do not need to retract anything from my post. If you feel my post is somehow in violation of this forum by all means feel free to hit that little red triangle button to the left and I will respect whatever Admin feels is correct. Please read this sticky provided for this section and see that I have not posted anything "heresay" but, commented on what YOU yourself posted on your own website: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...iews-only.html I really think you're making much more out of this than needs to be. If you are a reputable breeder and I am NOT saying that you are not...then you shouldn't need to worry because your reputation will support you. When I replied to your initial pm, I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt that perhaps you were not aware of a proper breeding weight for a bitch...but, apparently you & your Vet know better. This will be my last post on this matter and you do not need to pm me further. Have a nice night...:) Jo Ann |
I did not say that your post was in violation, I ASKED that you remove it, because you were trying to damage my reputation, and yes I do believe that my vet knows A LOT MORE if my dogs are of a good size to be bred, as I said before, he hasn't steered me wrong yet. I only asked that you talk with the person before posting negatively about them, which is common courtesy. I am sure if someone posted negatively about you, you would not appreciate it, had they not spoken with you prior. But I may be wrong about that. My reputation and my dogs will be just fine, they are great healthy dogs and puppies and as I stated before, I welcome anyone to come visit, they can see for themselves. |

My computer went down just before you sent the PM upon getting Bailey. I am now just getting on line for a brief time, after reading your PM just a bit ago I right away searched to read about the happy news of your getting him only to find this thread turn into a differnt direction :( Our Prairie Bea turned three years old the 30th of June, she is one of Daisy and Jake's........:thumbs up to Jill and her family for the love and care they gave her before her coming into our home. We feel Blessed to have gotten a yorkie from Jill, our daughter flew from North Carolina to Indiana then flew to bring Prairie Bea to us, it was our hearts desire to get a puppy of Jill's after our Cassie passed in Nov.2005 however Jill nor Jack and Myself were comfortable to have one fly the distance to us by itself, our daughter knowing how much we wanted one of Jill's girls was thrilled to make the flight to get Prairie Bea. We have never been confronted with any health issue, she came to us very well socialized and never any difficulty of any kind. I would highly recommend Jill to anyone wanting to purchase a yorkie. Nikki I am sorry your thread here went into the direction it did. I will again be off line for awhile till our son gets our computer fully working like it should, but wanted to tell you I shall look forward to coming back later on to read the happy times you and Bailey are sharing together :) as well as all the other YT Members :) Jill thank you and your family once again for bringing smiles my way daily the blessing of having Prairie Bea in our lifes, she has really helped me so many times over with her healthy, spirited spunky bouncing spitfire :)personality, knowing it'a from all the TLC given to her by you and your family. She has brought so much joy to my heart and Daddy Jack's too, having our other two girls to love has been such a joy to us too, but I have to admit Prairie Bea has truely helped heal my broken heart from loosing our Cassie, something I never thought could ever come to be. Hugs from us both, Patti and Jack and girls. |
Thank you!! Thank you Patti!! I appreciate your kind words and your statement of how healthy little Prairie Bea is. Her parents are 4.35lbs and 3.5lbs and Daisy has never had one problem whelping just like her mother. Give that little one kisses for me and Zach. It is crazy how Nikki wanted to express her good experience and it turned into an ugly thread. I just don't get how some people can feel they have a right to judge without knowing anything about the person, their dogs or anything about the care and consideration given to each individual dog and prospective breeding dog. On a side note: Zoey, who is 4.25lbs delivered 3 precious babies Wednesday. She had them all within 1 hour!! No problems at all. She had delivered twice before, but this was by far the fastest delivery she has had. Thanks again Nikki and to you Patti! |
Hello Nikki and a big congrats on your little Bailey! I am so happy for you and I'm sure you are grinning from ear to ear since getting him. I'm sorry your thread went in the direction it did. As for Jill...I have not met her in person, but feel I know her through internet and emails. I also know a number of people who have gotten puppies from her, and each and every one is happy beyond compare with that puppy. She is a friendly and caring person and has a great set of values and I'm proud to have her as a friend. It's sad when judgmental people seem to look for threads to attack others. It seems these people thrive on trying to ruin someone's day or reputation. It's their way or the highway. I feel sorry for them and I just don't understand how they find pleasure in it. I'm sure there are other reputable breeders who breed dogs under 5 pounds, but they wouldn't dare admit it because they know they would be bashed. I think very highly of Jill and would not hesitate to recommend her as a breeder. |
