WOW!! This is a complete shocker for me! I have known Toni for about 3 years now. I work at the Vet Clinic she uses for her Yorkshires. I have also worked for her on several occasions at her house helping her to care for her Yorkshires through illnesses and surgeries to make sure they were properly taken care of twice a day. I'm a level 3 CVA tech also...so its not like she just hired someone off the streets to care for her animals. The first time I helped her i was amazed at how nice, clean and organized the Yorkshires house was. She doesn't even allow her dogs to be put on our scales or exam tables with out a towel due to her extreme concern of contacting any virus from another animal. So I'm sure you can understand my shock in reading theses horrible posts. She DOES NOT have a "kennel", and definitely DOES NOT keep her Yorkshires outside...obviously some of do not you know her and have never seen her facilities or you wouldn't even think of posting these things. I recommend knowing before you speak and and passing judgment on someone you do not know. Of all of our clients we do not have anyone who goes to the extreme to make sure her dogs are healthy and happy as Ms. Toni does. And Toni, I'm sorry these people have said these awful things about you, but don't let it upset you! You have VERY beautiful Yorkshires and you take amazing care of them. They would be lucky to have one of your dogs. I still continue to visit Ms. Ledbetter at her house on a regular basis and its always clean and organized. Its your loss if you assume these things. Ill see you next week with all the little princesses for their Annual check ups and dentals!! Keep your head up! |

kennel is not a dirty word-- I have a very nice house, an elegant AND CLEAN Victorian house, that I share with my Yorkies. I call it "the kennel" when referring to where my dogs live, and I refer to my dogs collectively as "my kennel." I am a breeder and this is very common terminology. It has never been a dirty word. Please get informed. I think there are people on here who have never heard of Toni Ledbetter before. Toni built an expensive addition to her house and designed it entirely for the comfort and safety of her Yorkies. Indoor dogs pee and poop on specially designed washable pads indoors. This is the same at my house. They pee and poop, and puppies love to jump around in it. We can't be there every minute to pick up as soon as a deposit is made, but at my house nothing stays on the floor longer than a couple of hours. It's constant cleaning, laundry, disinfecting. Please don't keep this ugly thread going if you don't have first hand knowledge of the characters in it. |

I just wanted to say that Im sorry someone brought your name into this and tried to involve you. I dont know this breeder but have heard good and bad . but I hope people are stateing true facts I see so many threads where so many people who dont even know these breeders jump in for the bash and its not right. only the ones knowing true facts should be posting any thing. |

I did not try to involve her. I was making an observation that this breeder had purchased a pup from the "breeder in question". That's it. Never affiliated her with this breeder or made negative comments about her OR her pup. |
You gotta love how quickly things turn bad. What I want to know, is how is C.J. doing now Dixie, and the other pups that came from the "breeder" in question? I am sure he is wonderful since he has a sweet caring mommy like you! I dont see how ANYONE could ever mistreat a dog! What a crazy F*up world we live in where people think its ok to use dogs as cash crops.... its sad... |

Thank you for asking about C.J. in all the back and forth some forget there is a beautiful baby involved. |

What it should all come down to, in ANY situation, is the safety and well being of the dogs. PERIOD! No one should really bicker with each other (obviously they still will) when there are sick, and helpless animals in the world. So many people look at God's creatures and see $$$ signs. When they need to see that they were put here to love and protect us. No matter how big or small, we are ALL God's creatures and I think it could do everyone a heap of good to remember that simple fact! |
Honest Caring breeder I have known Toni for a year. I have purchased from her (perfectly healthy, socialized, gorgeous and loving). Toni could not be more doting over her babies. They live in a beautiful addition in her beautiful home and she always has extra help to assist her with the upkeep. This was built for the yorkies comfort and needs along with washable pee pads. They are in full coat and come from the best heavy champion lines producing amazing pups. She is extremely honest and is above and beyond a wonderful concerned breeder. I am new and joined after reading these comments. These vicious remarks are ridiculous and I cannot be silent. |
I too find it suspicious when newbies sign up to defend a breeder, or to sling mud at a breeders name. Whatever their reasons may be, I hope they're honorable. Moving on. I have nothing negative or positive to say about the breeder in question, or the OP. I have nothing for or against neither. BUT, I did read this one and all the threads that were started about this breeder since they have suddenly popped up again. Did anyone else notice that the breeder in question has two screen names? She's SHASTA in an old thread, http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/2749406-post5.html and nicholasdale, in this one http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/3045850-post23.html Isn't that against the rules? |
sceen name Yes I did have to rejoin because I did not remember my pass word so this is why I have a different dscreen name. I do not spend enough time on yorkie talk and forgot it. |
Hmmmm..........:confused::confused: I apologize in advance Toni but it really does seem suspicious when these things happen. And according to your histonry on YT it seems as you only sign on to defend yourself and your breeding program. No one is perfect and in my opinion if it were me I would actually spend more time getting to know others on YT and let YT get to know the real you. Im sure others would understand as Im sure otehrs have been in a similar situation one time or another. But to fire back in a negative manner is not a good way to make things better. JMO.... |
negative If I have said anything negative I do apologize for I have no intention to do so. I know there are many wonderful people on this forum and very knowledgable about yorkies. I have in the past read alot of good information on here that has helped and after all the negative post about me in the past I stop coming on here. Thank you for bringing this to my intention i only meant to address the issue at hand. |

i have read a couple of threads about this breeder. after reading different opinions, i have to say, it's not right to pass judgement without first hand experience. some people have had wonderful experiences - others say the living conditions are horrible. why do we automatically lean toward the negative? about two weeks ago my neighbor came and knocked on my door wanting to know if UPS had left a package at my house. i was lying in bed (looking like death) because i didn't feel well. my children (3 and 5) were in their bedroom right next to mine watching cartoons. i had dozed off when my 5 year old said, "mommy- there's a lady at the door!" i was mortified. i jumped up to find my 3 year old butt naked talking to my neighbor. she must've thought i was crazy because the house was a mess and one of my kids was naked - it definitely wasn't the typical environment! but - it's what she saw. she saw five minutes on one day of my life. she is an older lady and was very nice - saying, "my granddaughter won't keep her clothes on!" but i can imagine the conversation she had with her daughter when she went back to the car! if what people have said about this lady is typical, then that's a shame. however, you have to look at things objectively when you haven't had a first hand experience. dogs do poop -and dogs do have health problems. that doesn't necessarily mean that this lady lets her dogs run around in poop all the time (much like my son isn't naked all the time) or that she doesn't care about her dogs. i have no personal experience - i'm just saying - try to be objective. |

This is just crazy breeders need to take back a puppy the client is not happy with any breeder that does not do that I don't care what anyone else thinks does not have the puppys well being at heart and it is all money to them. A good breeder will want to take that puppy back no matter what. A good breeder won't let one of there dogs stay in a home that is not happy with it. One complaint is one to many make every client happy and most important keep ur dogs happy and healthy. All u had to do is take the dog back and refund the womans money. And u wouldn't u don't care about the dog u sold her all u care about is the money. If I breed my dogs u better believe I would take them back in a heart beat no matter how long they had them for. Stop breeding ur hurting people and the dogs u may think u doin the right thing but ur not one complaint as I said is to much I deal with people every day as a hair stylist there are ways to make everyone happy and urs was simple refund the lady and u didn't it was all about money to u. just stop breeding |

For the past few weeks I have been following the disparaging comments regarding Toni Ledbetter . It has saddened me that so many people who have not had first-hand experience with Ms. Ledbetter have felt free to express their negative feelings. Recently, I purchased three dogs from Ms. Ledbetter, two puppies and one adult female that she gave me permission to breed. One of the puppies, Lil Lilli, I co-own with my dear friend Marilyn. Marilyn was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, and if it were not for Lilli, I don't know how Marilyn would make it through this challenge. Lilli is an absolutely adorable little lady who brings much joy and comfort to Marilyn. Diva, my little breeding female also lives with Marilyn, and also gives Marilyn a diversion from her fears. My little Gucci (who I purchased from Ms. Ledbetter) is living with another dear friend who is coming out of a depression from the lost of little Treasure; because Gucci showers her with love. God works in mysterious ways, and without Toni's dogs, I would have two friends who would be very discouraged and sad. Love does not need language, that all people and animals can love each other without words and that dogs know more than people about unconditional love; that if we are quiet and pay attention, dogs are happy to teach us what they know. Because of the horrendous winter that we had here in Washington, DC, we had to wait "forever" for the courier to be available to pick the dogs up, but, it was worth the wait. The dogs are beautiful, socialized and of the best quality. One of the members of YT mentioned a suit that she had filed against Ms. Ledbetter. The Judge's decision was rendered on April 20. Ms. Ledbetter won that suit, and here is the language from the decision: "The law in Arkansas provides that unless the circumstances indicate otherwise all implied warranties are excluded by expression like "as is" which in common understanding calls the buyer's attention to the exclusion of any warranty. In the case at hand regarding "C.J.," any warranty was excluded by the language "with your new puppies leaving at an early age I will not guarantee against any health issues including bite, patellas." Therefore, the Defendant prevails in this case. Regarding "Lindy," this was literally a case where the Defendant accidentally provided the wrong paperwork with the correct dog. The Plaintiff was physically present, picked out, and tookLindy but received the wrong paperwork. When Plaintiff discovered the preferred genetic history of the other dog, she sought to void the contract. Defendant cured this defect by arranging for a paperword swap." Ms. Ledbetter won the suit. The parties will have 30 days from the date of the letter to appeal this decision. Having been a member of YT for many years, I am not a newbie. Without hesitation, I would purchase another adult or puppy Yorkie from Toni and can say unequivaquily my experience and purchases from her were "top of the line." :aimeeyork |
Wow. That's extremely interesting! I'm glad you were able to come on and give the judge's final ruling. Another case of needing all the facts before someone is so harshly judged! Thanks for filling us in on what happened! :-) |
