Toni Ledbetter, TJ's Yorkies As far as I can tell her dogs are first rate. We had a bru-ha-ha last year about some exchange of paperwork that I wasn't happy with but I have since become convinced this was an isolated fluke. She's a very pleasant lady who you can totally trust to sell you a wonderful puppy. With sincere, if belated, apologies to her. Susan Dodge Clover Hill Yorkshire Terriers |
That was nice of you do to. |
Not nice, really, but thanks for saying so. She is owed the apology. This is a good example of "live and learn" and thinking real hard before you say something that can't be reversed. Toni has a nice web site worth visiting. |
Good for you for trying your make things right. |
Tjs yorkies Thank you susan for this, i have just read it today and i sincerly thankyou. |
trying to neutralize the bad thread--- There are two other people on here posting bad things about Toni that I personally find questionable. Please feel free to PM or phone me if you're interested in my opinion about these complaints. I wouldn't be paying much attention to them except that I once did wrong by Toni and can't help taking notice of threads about her. I do know Toni has some great dogs in her kennel because I buy many of my dogs in the same places she does. I've never met her in person but conversations with her make me think she is very good to her dogs and interested in good breeding. I noticed on the other thread that some of you think "kennel" is a dirty word. It's not. Get educated. Breeders use it all the time to refer collectively to their dogs, as well as the place where they live. I have a nice house and I refer to the whole thing as a "kennel." Toni built a huge addition to her house designed especially for the safety and comfort of her Yorkies, and there is nothing sinister about referring to that area as a "Kennel." double standards Kathryn A. RobertsSaturday, 5/2/09, 11:12 AM Toni, I would like to thank you for allowing us into your home and to see your beautiful "Yorkie Palace" and all of your yorkies. You are a true gift. Thank you so much for our newest addition Was this not your post Kathryn? I think you have double standards here, why would you not say anything here if it was like you said? |
You are absolutely right, I did put that on your guest book, however, look at the date.... My I picked the yorkies up on April 17, C.J.'s heart murmur was found by my vet, you were contacted immediately, you told me your vet never heard the murmur, I trusted you and because of his size we decided to have it monitored. On July 17, the papers came for Lovely of New Deal the female I purchased bred to your Charmer, upon examination of the Certified pedigree from Hungary I noticed a tattoo number, I check the number on the little girl that you handed me, IT DID NOT MATCH! I called you immediately and you confirmed you indeed had my Lovely of New Deal and I had Heroine of New Deal a female supposedly bred to your male, PER YOUR CONTRACT. This female was not even a year old when I brought her home. On July 24, CJ's final check up for the heart murmur, (He had been check 4 times during this time and the murmur was still present) my vet had your vet fax the records on CJ's mother and the litter to be examined before CJ had our final approval for breding. CJs murmur had closed, we were elated then the records came and we discover, CJ's mother had not been seen by the vet prior to being bred, the only records they had of her were and xray for pregnancy and a necropsy. CJ had never been seen except for when his tail and dew claws were done at 3 days however, CJ's brother was examined on May 22 for a health certificate to fly to his new home and was found to have grade IV luxating patella. CJ was examined and found to have grade II-III LP bi-lateral and advised by my vet should NOT be bred. After trying to get you to make this right on both dogs you have refused, I then got back on your guestbook advising people NOT to post reviews and write in guestbooks until all business with the persons are complete but....You removed that one. |
Honest Caring Breeder I have known Toni for a year. I have purchased from her (perfectly healthy, socialized, gorgeous and loving). Toni could not be more doting over her babies. They live in a beautiful addition in her beautiful home and she always has extra help to assist her with the upkeep. This was built for the yorkies comfort and needs along with washable pee pads. They are in full coat and come from the best heavy champion lines producing amazing pups. She is extremely honest and is above and beyond a wonderful concerned breeder. I am new and joined after reading these comments. These vicious remarks are ridiculous and I cannot be silent. |

Why are you posting the same post in three different threads? Okay actually four LOL! |
i have read a couple of threads about this breeder. after reading different opinions, i have to say, it's not right to pass judgement without first hand experience. some people have had wonderful experiences - others say the living conditions are horrible. why do we automatically lean toward the negative? about two weeks ago my neighbor came and knocked on my door wanting to know if UPS had left a package at my house. i was lying in bed (looking like death) because i didn't feel well. my children (3 and 5) were in their bedroom right next to mine watching cartoons. i had dozed off when my 5 year old said, "mommy- there's a lady at the door!" i was mortified. i jumped up to find my 3 year old butt naked talking to my neighbor. she must've thought i was crazy because the house was a mess and one of my kids was naked - it definitely wasn't the typical environment! but - it's what she saw. she saw five minutes on one day of my life. she is an older lady and was very nice - saying, "my granddaughter won't keep her clothes on!" but i can imagine the conversation she had with her daughter when she went back to the car! if what people have said about this lady is typical, then that's a shame. however, you have to look at things objectively when you haven't had a first hand experience. dogs do poop -and dogs do have health problems. that doesn't necessarily mean that this lady lets her dogs run around in poop all the time (much like my son isn't naked all the time) or that she doesn't care about her dogs. i have no personal experience - i'm just saying - try to be objective. |
I have such strong feelings about breeders because of what I been through. I am young and was new at buying a dog I don't care to go into what happened to me right now but it was somethin like this. If ur a breeder and don't take back your dogs u sell for any reason u shouldn't be breeding period. That dog could have ended up in a shelter just becuase u didn't want to refund her money she was not happy with ur dog take it back simple as that. Makes me sick people think this is ok. It was all about money she did not care about the dog if ur dogs don't come first stop breeding seriously. And give better descriptions of ur dogs to people if u cant give a proper description of ur dogs u should not be trying to sell them online. Just stop breedig please this stupid u are in the wrong. |
oh, i'm sure she would've taken the dog back - but given her a refund? that's not common if it ever happens! buyers also have some responsibility to get a health guarantee. if they don't - it's not the breeder's responsibility to refund, exchange pups, nothing. it's kind of like buying a car with no warranty. you can get it cheaper, but don't expect the person you bought it from to care if it blows up after you leave the parking lot. i'm sure they'd take the car back if you wanted to give it them, but a refund? nope - that's just not how it works. |
For the past few weeks I have been following the disparaging comments regarding Toni Ledbetter . It has saddened me that so many people who have not had first-hand experience with Ms. Ledbetter have felt free to express their negative feelings. Recently, I purchased three dogs from Ms. Ledbetter, two puppies and one adult female that she gave me permission to breed. One of the puppies, Lil Lilli, I co-own with my dear friend Marilyn. Marilyn was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, and if it were not for Lilli, I don't know how Marilyn would make it through this challenge. Lilli is an absolutely adorable little lady who brings much joy and comfort to Marilyn. Diva, my little breeding female also lives with Marilyn, and also gives Marilyn a diversion from her fears. My little Gucci (who I purchased from Ms. Ledbetter) is living with another dear friend who is coming out of a depression from the lost of little Treasure; because Gucci showers her with love. God works in mysterious ways, and without Toni's dogs, I would have two friends who would be very discouraged and sad. Love does not need language, that all people and animals can love each other without words and that dogs know more than people about unconditional love; that if we are quiet and pay attention, dogs are happy to teach us what they know. Because of the horrendous winter that we had here in Washington, DC, we had to wait "forever" for the courier to be available to pick the dogs up, but, it was worth the wait. The dogs are beautiful, socialized and of the best quality. One of the members of YT mentioned a suit that she had filed against Ms. Ledbetter. The Judge's decision was rendered on April 20. Ms. Ledbetter won that suit, and here is the language from the decision: "The law in Arkansas provides that unless the circumstances indicate otherwise all implied warranties are excluded by expression like "as is" which in common understanding calls the buyer's attention to the exclusion of any warranty. In the case at hand regarding "C.J.," any warranty was excluded by the language "with your new puppies leaving at an early age I will not guarantee against any health issues including bite, patellas." Therefore, the Defendant prevails in this case. Regarding "Lindy," this was literally a case where the Defendant accidentally provided the wrong paperwork with the correct dog. The Plaintiff was physically present, picked out, and tookLindy but received the wrong paperwork. When Plaintiff discovered the preferred genetic history of the other dog, she sought to void the contract. Defendant cured this defect by arranging for a paperword swap." Ms. Ledbetter won the suit. The parties will have 30 days from the date of the letter to appeal this decision. Having been a member of YT for many years, I am not a newbie. Without hesitation, I would purchase another adult or puppy Yorkie from Toni and can say unequivaquily my experience and purchases from her were "top of the line." |
Wonderful for Toni-- I hope to God you can get some peace from this board. Best, Susan |
So, Toni won the lawsuit because she did not/would not guarantee the puppy's health.....nice, hmm!? |
Because the new owner insisted on taking the puppy even though it was only eight weeks old, Toni said that she could not give a written health guarantee. All of the facts were presented in court, from the Plaintiff and the Defendant, and after reviewing all the evidence, the Judge ruled in favor of Toni. Now, let's just let the case rest and get on with sharing other Yorkie news ~ it's been on the radar screen way too long and Toni has been hurt enough. The Judge was an unbiased outsider, and the Court felt that the documentation that Toni provided was more than adequate to clear her name and reputation.:aimeeyork |
