Please keep us informed about your little guy! I pray he continues to improve. I went through a similar situation last year, but our baby didn't make it. PLEASE report this breeder to the AKC, BBB and anyone else you can think of! Your little guy is lucky to have you and your fiance. |
This is the thing I find most disturbing, under their "Warranty" section: Are we a “PUPPY MILL” First there is not such term as “PUPPY MILL” there are substandard kennels. Are ya dumb??? Then again, I guess we should expect this kind of comment from...a puppy mill! |
Interestingly, that whole page wasn't even there when I bought my puppy from her. I wonder if they added it because of the fuss my fiance and I made. Luckily though, Paxton's doing great. He's a sweet little guy and the vet says he's very healthy now. Granny puppies did tell us he'd only be 7 lbs though, and he's already 6lbs at 18 weeks, but that's so minor now... I'm just happy he's such a playful puppy. |

I have never bought a puppy from the Van Dusen's, but I do know a little about them. Yes, they are a puppy mill. I have heard that facilities are disgusting and house the dogs in a kennel they made out of an old mobile home. Their puppies are so dirty and they smell so bad that it makes you gag. They clean the place up for inspections, and they always pass here in Arkansas. Unfortunately, in this state the animal abuse laws are very lax and many puppy mills are legal. Vets also have to sign a health certificate before shipping the puppy, even with them knowing it's a puppy mill. I believe that this law is awful and something needs to be done about it. I know that many back-yard-breeders and puppy mills will bring in sick puppies for health certificates. The puppies fail the test, but the breeder will usually keep bringing the dog back until it passes and still sell it without informing the new buyer. I will only buy from a reputable breeder that will allow me on the premises to view the housing of all dogs and their puppies, because I too am a victim of buying a puppy from a puppy mill. It's sad that so many so-called 'breeders' can get away with this. Most cases against them never hold up in court here. I'm sorry to hear that you went through all of this, but I'm glad to hear your puppy is doing better. |
This is terrible.....I couldn't help but check the address in Live Search Maps and it sure looks like a puppymill from the pictures....the map indicated the address to be the house on the right with the pool but by the looks of it my guess would be it's the house on the left with all the outshacks....what a shame if it is.....I'm not sure if this link will work but you can go to the Live Search Maps and check it yourself if it doesn't work.... Web browser and Live Maps are incompatible |
Wow! We looked up our address too. It was really cool looking at it. Anyway, that person is definitely a puppymill. Pam |
LOL...I remember one time looking up someone's address and posting it and getting alot of crap for it. I think I was even threatened to be sued, LOL. And I didn't even go as far as posting an ariel of their house. :p Well at least I'm know I'm not the only one. |

Please do not buy from this woman! Yes, she is still in business. My sister just purchased a boston terrier from her and it arrived in Los Angeles from Arkansas on Saturday. They were expecting a lively puppy who the breeder claimed had lots of energy. Instead the poor baby was terribly sick, lathargic, dirty and had trouble walking. She immediately called the breeder who claimed that she was "running around her kitchen" and perfectly well the day she was shipped. My sister and her husband thought that the dog was ill and scared from the long flight. Today they took her to the vet and she had to be put down. She was a VERY sick dog with several conditions. One of them was a condition with her legs that never would have allowed her to run around as described. This puppy was a christmas gift to 3 young children. We feel terrible for her. My sister informed the breeder of the situation and after an arguement, she agreed to reimburse her but still takes no responsibility of the condition of this poor puppy. Please do not buy from this woman. We will be doing everything we can to get this out there and to try to stop her. |
